if i have to be honest i expected it

wow...what a start

did you expected too this approach ?

the beginning looks good and if i think that we will have # 24 and # 28

no I did not...

But we haven't done it in awhile, so our cap room is just fine.

I have seen us to it before, when we signed Colvin. That was a big contract at the time.

No I didn't. This is a little shocking.

I hoped they would do something big, but I never expected this.

With as much cap room as they had and the holes they needed to fill. I know its not traditional but it didn't suprise me.

I didn't expect it, I'm pretty shocked. But at the same time the NFL is different now with the increased salary cap and the Patriots are adapting to stay ahead of the curve

This is REALLY shocking! It seems like management was pissed at what happened in the championship game and is not going to play around this time. They are really going to be loaded once the season starts.

I expected the Pats to be more agressive than they had in the past, meaning that I didn't think that they would sit around and wait for all the chips to fall and pick through the dregs. This is similar to 2003 when they brought in Colvin and Harrison.

So far, they have added Adalius "A.D." Thomas, Sammy Morris, and Kyle Brady, while re-signing Billy Yates and Heath Evans to contracts.

I've said that the off-season was going to be very interesting. It will continue to be so through the draft and until training camp.

Of which, btw, I am DREADING the trip to China.

I hoped, but no I didn't really expect it... It feels like Christmas!! lol.. I'm thrilled at who is being brought in... Now I hope for another LB, a WR, and maybe a CB or safety, but I might be pushing it... I hear Doss from the Colts is available, I wonder how he would do here... And then there is Horn from the Saints, I think he would be that deep threat we are looking for, even though he's "old" for football standards, I think he has another year or 2 left... We will see, but I'm enjoying what I'm seeing... Where's the SB this year? lol...

I think they learned from last year that taking your time is like quick sand. Make a decision and move on from there.

well said - it really seems Christmas

what beauty moments the Pats are giving us !

AVANTI PATRIOTI !

I think its a combo of the increases cap, and the talent available. It could be argued that in past years, there was no one that warranted spending on.

I don't know what you said, but I believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I fully expected it. However, someone has deleted the thousands of posts I wrote and deleted them from archives. :D

I certainly didn't expect them to go after Thomas so aggressively. That was a major surprise, I have to say. The other signings were the sort of thing I would have expected- a bit of tweaking here and there. I'm happy at the moment, and will be very happy when AD's signing is confirmed.

Avanti Patrioti is in italian the same as: 'Go Pats'

so you was right to 'believe me'

also if someone deleted them...i trust in you

OK...deep breath...that's better...i haven't felt this good since Rodney's INT at the end of SB XXXIX...deep breath...there...now, how much cap money will we have left and where will we use it next...

short answer: no

When I heard AD was on the FA market I told myself it would be awesome if we could pick him up. I thought of that some more and figured we'd never pull the trigger on that, boy was I wrong! I guess the FO wants some more SB wins, not playoff elims.

Good job guys, I'm stoked for 07 to start

Yep. My thoughts on Thomas and the Patriots have been well documented here.

Just posted on ESPN:

"With its once-feared linebacker corps in obvious decline, and forced to cut and paste on the unit over the past couple seasons, the New England defense sorely needed the kind of upgrade Thomas should bring. He is the kind of hybrid, edge-type player around whom Belichick has traditionally constructed his defensive schemes, a wonderfully versatile athlete who can morph into multiple roles. In fact, during his seven years in Baltimore, Thomas played nearly every defensive position"
