Now along with flinching everytime Gronkendola take a hit, I'll be flinching everytime Collie gets hit wondering if he'll get up from it.

Curious signing. I really wish he would just retire. The guy is already looking at being a complete vegetable in his 50's, if he even makes it that far. I wonder what this means for the health of Amendola.

This makes me nervous. Is one of the other receivers headed to IR? I'm hoping this doesn't mean something about Amendola or Dobson.

Supposedly, Dobson didn't suffer any serious injuries in that hit, and someone on Twitter (Underhill?) said Amendola is moving "MUCH" better in practice.

So, in the end, Manning steals Welker from Brady and Tom steals Collie from Peyton.

The only good thing to be said for this is that Brady, unlike Manning, does not make a habit of hanging his receivers out to dry.

I don't think that this has anything to do with Amendola. They probably just need the depth. Dobson is hurt too. They have to be careful with him. There better be fine coming for that scumbag who nearly took his head off. But that's a tirade for another thread.

Media's reporting everyone else is there except Wilfork, Slater, and Ridley.

Guess is that Wilfork was placed on IR, Collie was immediatey signed so he could get the week of practice, and then a Ross Ventrone-guy is released on Saturday so that Forston/Francis is promoted (Mulligan if running game de-emphasized this week?).

Another option is that Slater suffered a setback and was placed on IR.

And then there's the possibility that Ridley was placed on IR, which would be yet another blow. Hope this one isn't the case. Looks like he won't be playing this week regardless given that it's the 2nd practice he missed. This knee injury seemed to catch people by surprise, as no one had reported it before Belichick's injury report yesterday.

It really is a shame also what all the concussions did to his career. He had 58 receptions 649 yards 9 TDs in 8 games in 2010. He was becoming a beast until Peyton's over the middle ducks ruined his career.

I am assuming this means Wilfork to IR...

My first thought was whether Amendola and Dobson might not be 100% for the next two games, and this is just short term insurance. The concussion issue must be what has kept other teams from retaining him, so it cannot be a long term solution for Bill.

I couldn't have described my feelings about this better. This is the strangest signing in a long time, AND it makes me worry about Amendola.
