Just curious?

As we all know Vince always has and will have high expectations for himself.

Seems to me he is getting pushed back and aside more this year than in other years.

Maybe it is a bug, maybe it is an injury or maybe he is just not playing as bad as I am making it out to be but I think through 3 weeks of football there is a bit of a difference in him this year compared to last year...

My take is that he's been fighting through illness or injury. I thought he looked a bit better against TB than he did against the Jets, where he really struggled.

In the medium/long term I'm not worried.

Personally I think he is playing some sort of unpublicized (surprise!) ailment, like maybe a shoulder injury. I have nothing to back that up and confirm it with, just speculation on my part.

Lack of depth at DT has been a concern all off season. It's unfortunate that they couldn't find somebody that they had enough confidence in to put on the field for even just 15-20 snaps a game to give Wilfork (he'll turn 32 this season) and Kelly (he'll turn 33) more of a breather and keep them fresher not just for the 4th quarter of games, but more importantly for December and January.

Ditto. Before he ended up on the report this week, I was under the impression that he might've battled the flu for a couple weeks.

Good God! Is that Armond Armstead's music?!

I agree with Jack, he's fighting through something. It's showing mostly in run defense, where we've been okay but inconsistent. I also think his issue was exacerbated by the quick turnaround to the Jets game, which is why he looked a bit better against Tampa. I expect he'll get stronger over the next few weeks.

I was actually thinking of someone along the lines of Gerard Warren from a couple years ago.

Without having ever seen Armstead play in so much as a preseason game, my expectations are tempered.

I know, it was mostly in jest, though I do believe that the team has expectations for Mr. Armstead for this season.

My take is that he's been battling a foot injury all season that just got listed on the injury report this past week. My impression is that he'll be back to being his usual dominant self when it is healed and that he's still pretty damn good.

Battling injuries...that or illness..because he does not look right at all

undefeated, whilst also playing as part of a defense that is shown to be much improved over last year.

I'm not going to nitpick every play like some. When things start going bad we can look at what might be going wrong but for right now im happy with his play, . our bookend playmakers are getting to the QB and thats whats important.

My take is that I dont want to deny what anyone thinks they are seeing and admittedly he hasnt stood out to me the same as in the past but who knows the reason. More importantly the D as a whole has looked so much better than any in almost a decade so why question this.
