The Falcons fans like our teams chances more than us.

They should care more about blocking this guy

I was surprised to see the consensus split roughly 50:50 as to the outcome of the game….

So Are We Busting The Patriots In The Mouth This Sunday Or What! - Talk About the Falcons - Falcons Life Forums

My cousin lives in Atlanta, says that the Falcons fans are just generally different in how they follow the team. Much more laid back, to the point that he's not sure most of them really care about the NFL at all. I'm sure they do, but in general they seem pretty low-key about it, I guess.

Unless they win 2-3 SBs their fans wont think their team is capable of winning any and every game they play convincingly :)

Just like this or any other fan base, there are some overly optimistic homers, some overly pessimistic doubters, and some in the middle.

I forgot its a sunday night game same time as Breaking bad final episode, I will get the score from here and watch breaking bad lol

I lived in Atlanta for 3 years.

Strange sports town.

Most people don't care passionately about pro sports. The Braves were awesome for years yet didn't sell out playoff games. Falcons fans are not passionate at all.

Like all general rules, there are big exceptions.

It is weird: The Hawks fans can also b included. I'm assuming , but may b wrong, that college football is still strong. Georgia is playing LSU this Sat.

Hawks and falcons are pretty much the same team in different leagues. Almost same name and pretty good regular season team that never goes anywhere in the playoffs. Hawks are the definition of a treadmill team.

Gillette season ticket holder, eh?

They really have no faith.

The bulk of the thread was basically a few of them trying to pump up the rest of the others. They really have no faith. I know this first hand too, my wife's brother is a huge Falcons fan. He's been texting me all week talking about don't worry, you guys will win. We can't hold second half leads, etc, etc.

Wow!

Atlanta is a college football town, pure and simple. Athens, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Knoxville and more are all nearby and hold at least 80K fans. Even Ga Tech can scrounge up 50K. The Falcons are the ugly stepchild to college football.

Sounds like a Boston sports fan!

TRUE, but; It isn't JUST that. [I lived there 4 years - still have ties to the area.]

It is also that about 7 out of 10 Atlanta'ns are FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE(if not them directly, at least their parents).
[ I proudly admitted to the natives that i was a "Damn Yankee" (that is, one who came to Atlanta and stayed. The ones who just visit are just "Yankees").]

So, you have a lot of folks who are born fans of OTHER TEAMS. They will root for Falcons as like team 1b (just like a bunch of CT-ite Pats fans will [despicably] root for Gints as their "NFC team").

Then there is also the whole warm-weather phenomena endemic to S. Cal, FL teams that if it is good weather; folks would rather be out hiking, boating-fishing etc than sitting around in a stadium that you have to drive through and park in a 3d world poverty zone to get to. But that is a much lesser factor than the college and Damn Yankee phenomena; particularly since Blank took over and invented better marketing ways to fill the stadium (1/2 season tix etc.).

Hey Guys..Old Falcon Fan here.I am reading that some of you think Falcon Fans aren`t passionate about the Falcons.Well I am,I have been a Falcon Fan since 1968.I live in North Carolina and when I started liking NFL Football as a kid I chose the Falcons.I guess some of you can relate having been longtime Red sox fans and it finally paying off.I have a fondness for the Pats also being my Mother is from Boston.I think our season is pretty much on the line Sunday night as far as staying close to the Saints.I see us winning and I am confident we will. When its all said and done we fans can`t do a darn thing but cheer our boys on,but you aren`t going to hear me say this Falcon team will lose any game they play.I think it`ll be a close ball game.I see where we should be worried about blocking Chandler. We put Tanneyhill on his tail 6 times last Sunday so your team needs to block well also.I won`t be there at the Dome but I`ll be here in NC yelling like hell for my Falcons. Here`s to a good game and no injuries!:rocker:

Not true. Take a peek at the Predict the Score contest... that's the bottom line for members actual choice and it's running about 88-12 choosing the Pats to win.

ATL fans are very fairweather...but man their forums are almost depressing..saying they have no chance ect. They have a very good chance at winning

But if ATL DOES lose and drop to 1-3. We know what kind of team they are. This game will say more about the falcons....then it will the pats win or lose
