I thought the Pats had no shot at Thomas.. None , Zippo, Nada... Im so glad I was wrong.. I could only hope we bring in a nice WR , Kyle Brady and how bout Travis Henry now..

Agreed. While I was hoping for it, I really didn't think it was going to happen. Just sign one of those WR's out there, maybe a RB, and let the draft do the rest.

Count me amongst the non-believers also, I was skeptical up until right now, but there are too many folks reporting it to be false... Curran particularly.

well, you weren't the only one.......I was wrong too.....in fact, there was a thread earlier this week from a football source that said that the Niners/Thomas already had a deal in place.

While I didn't want to believe it to be true, I realized that the only reason I was skeptical of the article was because it meant the Pats had no shot at him. I made the point that I thought others were showing the same skeptism only because we wanted to be optimistic.

Well, sometimes it's great to be wrong.

I thought he was going to be a 49er. I am estatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Patriots are very savy at applying their own perceived market value on players, and I figured that there would be at least one other team out there that could lure Thomas away from the Pats contention. After all, it only takes one team to spoil the party (as the Niners are finding out)

You're not the only one Sean. I think we're more likely to go after a guy like Sammy Morris than T.Henry. I think Henry will want to be a starter. And, Morris more comfortable in a backup role.

If they indeed sign Thomas it just goes to show when people say they know what BBioli will do, they don't really know. Except they do what they think it'll take to win with whatever constaints they have with the salary cap and sometimes things happen they can't control. This year they have a lot of cap space. If they also sign Kyle Brady they'll have 2 Brady's and 2 Thomas's. Whatever that means.

Me too! At first, I was convinced that the Pats had to get A.D. no matter what. Then, as I realized how much attention he was going to garner, I decided that the front office would never be up to snatching him amidst a bidding war. Turns out I was wrong! I don't like to be wrong, but this was a rare exception.

And I'd really like to see Brady, a RB, and a WR brought in. Sammie Morris has apparently caught the eye of the front office, and I think he could fit the bruiser type of back well. As for the wide receiver, I am hoping that they go after Donte Stallworth. Drew Bennett has been my first choice, but appears that both he and Kevin Curtis are likely to sign elsewhere for top dollar. I haven't heard about much interest in Stallworth, though. My guess is that he must be looking for too much money. If that were the case, the Pats might well be able to convince him to come down on his price in order to play for a truly great team.
