First of all, WHOOOOOOOOOOO for Adalius Thomas!!!

Y'all think ole Bill didn't have a great time with Adalius at the Pro Bowl!? Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli are masters at convincing free agents to join them. Rodney Harrison, Rosevelt Colvin, and now Adalius Thomas. Plus, Dillon wasn't a bad move either in terms of personality evaluation.

People should now shut up about Belichick/Kraft/Pioli being tightwads with the pocket book, or being so militant and cold that players don't want to play for them. The fact of the matter is, they are smooth, charismatic sons of b*tches, with Jedi mind powers, and they open the checkbooks for STUDS!

“I never really met Belichick before, and you always hear about how he’s a mean guy,” Baltimore linebacker Adalius Thomas said yesterday, prior to returned a fumble 70 yards for a score in the AFC’s 31-28 win. “But it’s real interesting to see how he reacts with different players, how he gets comfortable over here. He’s actually a REALLY NICE GUY. I was surprised.”

BB is no dummy.

He knows how to shmooze and he has hung out with Jim Brown and done a lot of stuff in prisons and with gangs to better understand social situations he wouldn't have experienced growing up.

He's a sincere, intelligent person.

I do think he needs to work on his public relations, though. It hurt him in Cleveland and it's hurting him with the Pats IMO.

He's obviously had a lot of stressful personal issues. Hopefully, he's feeling relaxed like he seemed in the Pro bowl stories.

He's a smart guy and all he needs to do is feed some tidbits to the brain dead media. Get some stock answers to the stupid questions. How hard can that be?

He is developing a close relationship with Reiss, which is smart because Reiss is one of the last legitimate media guys who cover the Pats nowadays.

Reiss earned his access. I'm talking about the gossip media morons. Pretty much every Boston and national media person except Reiss and Pat Kirwan, (I'n exaggerating).

He has to develop a strategy to feed them some bs stories so he can have less tense news conferences and less hatchetjob stories. It's a distraction and it's keeping him from presenting the team in the best light.

I'm sorry, PR is part of the job and he's been reverting back to the Cleveland days.

As far as I feel, BB should have one-on-one interviews with only Reiss every week to get his message out, but I am behind BB on giving the cold shoulder to the hacks who occupy most positions covering the Pats.

I tend to think this HUGE signing will overshadow the other stuff right now.

The LT story died a sorry little death. No one is talking about Mangini anymore. It's on to the next thing and the next thing is a BIG positive...the signing of Thomas. Well done, BB!

They're not going away.

It's not good business to let a problem fester.

If we're going to the super Bowl we're national and national media are even bigger idiots.

Yeah, I liked what I saw at the pro bowl. He's had a very sressful personal life for a couple years.

Wasting energy on what hand shakes looked like etc. is a drain. You don't need it.

Agreed! After all the hype over Thomas I had decided that there was no way the Patriots would get him! I even had "sign Adalius Thomas" in my signature, but took it out yesterday because I decided it was unrealistic! Man, I am stoked! Now we just need a few more acquistions: a good wide receiver (Stallworth?) and a good safety (Hamlin or Deon Grant?). If we get that, and then with two first round picks in the draft...SUPERBOWL BABY! :rocker:

No offense, but...........I don't give a *** what BB does with you or I in the PR department my friend, It's what he does in the trenches....... and if we really did sign AD. He's A>O>effing>KAY in my book. ;)

This signing, and others in the past, disproves the idea that NFL players don't want to play for Belichick, or any of the other crazy things said about him. Fact is, if BB wants someone, he can convince them to join. The only failure was D.Mason, and that was more because his wife thought Boston was racist (so not football related).

I'd prefer to call it mutual respect.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Is that Jake Plumber in the background??

hurting the Pats to the tune of 3 championships. ouch.

I thought the same thing but I don't see how Plummer was at the Pro Bowl considering he was mediocre and benched this season. Also while the guy looks like Plummer he looks a little too big to be a QB.
