Different quarterback and different team but you gotta be at least a bit concerned of how to stop this guy...2 of Jackson's biggest games in his career came vs. the Pats secondary.

The last 2 games vs. the Pats when playing for SD....306 yards and 3 TDs

Small sample you might say but that's a heck of a good showing in just those games.

I think Jackson is the guy you have to stop to beat these Bucs....Talib will likely be on him so hopefully he can contain him in this game.

He should of had a field day against the 2011 defense. Was the first game against the 07 defense?

He has played against the Pats 3 times in the regular season.....in 2007 he only had 53 in the regular season game ....in 2008 he had 134 and in 2011 he had 172 ...he was an absolute beast in that 2011 game, unstoppable.

2 Postseason games...43 yards in 2007 ...93 yards in 2008

Our D is much different now....

Have Talib shadow him on the field similar to what they did against Andre Johnson. I doubt that stops Jackson but it can at least slow him down and contain him.

Doug Martin is my biggest worry going into the game. The Bucs don't have any TEs to expose the LBs in coverage.

If I'm not mistaken, Antonio Gates was completely shut down in that 2011 game and the obvious game plan was to take him away which led to more opportunities for Jackson.

Gates was injured in the 2011 regular season game, IIRC.

Talib 1 on 1 with McCourty playing Single Safety High. If Jackson puts up numbers against that, he should be congratulated.

Gregory needs to be down near the box to add cover support for Doug Martin. I'm confident Dennard can match Mike Williams 1 on 1.

Several differences you missed other than different team and different QB:
  • In the the last two games, he went up against smaller 5-9 CBs of the Pats. This time he will go up against Talib who is 6-1 and 205Lbs. Talib excels at covering bigger physical WRs like Jackson.
  • The Pats played zone almost exclusively in the previously two games. My guess is that they will man up Talib with him quite a bit with over the top help.

I know it was a small sample size, but Talib blanketed Jackson in the preseason game. And that was without McCourty there for over the top help.

I don't know if they will shut down Jackson on Sunday, but I am betting he will not have nearly the same effectiveness this time around as he has had the last two times he played the Patriots.
