Trent Richardson traded to colts for 1st rd pick

Cue "Why dont pats trade for Larry F?" comments...

If the Brown's are throwing in the towel for 2014, I wonder if they would be willing to move Josh Gordon? I know he has had some off the field issues which would deter the Patriots, but from what he brings to the field I think he would could be a good fit on the Pats. He can run and can make the big catch.

If Gordon is capable of understanding the system, he would be a beast here. But it's not going to happen. The Browns are keeping him even if Lombardi is trying to go all in on securing the first pick in the draft, and getting either Clowney or Bridgewater.

Was just about to comment about that. Josh Gordon would be a pretty decent fit here

Yeah ...why would the Browns trade their only potential playmaker?

QB: Bridgewater (#1 pick)
RB: Darren McFadden (Free agency)
WR: Marqise Lee/Watkins/Evans (colts pick)
WR: Josh Gordon
TE: Jordan Cameron

That offense could be turned around in a hurry, the browns just need to tank for #1.

Lombardi might be trying to douche out that team and might have his sights set on Bridgewater (who most think should overtake Clowney at some point pre-draft for the first overall pick). Even then, I don't see him doing that. If Bridgewater is the real deal (and, in today's NFL, he probably will be), he and Gordon together would instantly improve that team's offensive output.

Lets not kid ourselves here people. This trade was made for the sole purpose of flipping it to the Patriots for Mallett in the offseason. If you don't agree you're delusional.

The only question is which DB the Pats will select with the pick....or will they take Manziel.....

I bet Texans fans are absolutely loving this news. Still, Indy has very real issues on the defensive side of the ball and along the OL. Luck is still going to have a giant bullseye on his chest when opposing DE's are looking at him.

unbelievable...................

Manziel to the Browns, calling it. :bricks:

The Browns don't need to tank to earn the #1 pick. They're the Browns.

Kontra, we had the debate in the offseason over Richardson. Looks like it'll finally be answered in the next few weeks. Was it his team, or him? ;) :D

Maybe we can see what we can get for Mallet now, while they need a QB. Hoyer in return plus a reasonable Draft Choice. I can't define "reasonable" and I believe this won't happen. So, end daydream, returning to reality (slowly).

As for Richardson, as KontradictioN implied, he won't be seeing eight in the box in Indy. Last, the trade may be more of a HC/locker room thing than a rebuilding mechanism.

I remember it. I'll just blame the OL if he's not successful.

Two words: The. Jaguars.
No doubt, they are both as poor as each other offensively. The Browns do have potential to be a very good D. Unfortunately, they have Weeden at QB (Hoyer now).

Realistically, if the Browns were in blowup mode, how high would you want the pats to go for Gordon, 3rd?

I hope you're joking on all accounts. Mallett has never been worth a first round pick and Manziel is the next Ryan Leaf.

Yep, this trade is all about the future. Their getting a franchise QB no matter what. This is just insurance on another skill position player on offense.

The Browns are already throwing in the towel not just on Richardson, but on their season too.
