The last thing they need after the horrifying first two weeks they've had is to get their head taken off in the third go-round by Goldson. He would have looked mighty good in a Pats uniform too but c'est la vie.
He would have been magnitudes better than Ihedigbo, Lockett, Brown, Chung etc etc etc over the last few seasons, though.
He'll appeal (if he can) so he can play this week and then drop it for the Cardinals game the next week.
Only thing is I think the Pats offered a 1 year deal which means he would have had the SB year and maybe he would have helped the Pats win it, maybe he wouldn't but he then would have gotten paid and it wouldn't have been from the Pats and the Pats would be in the same position they are now.

He's a good player but I don't think BB would have been too fond of the frequent free 15 yards he gives the opposition.

Wasn't the story as to why he didn't sign for New England that the Pats offered him a multi year deal but he took the 1 year prove it that was offer in San Fran so he could get a big contract (which he's got in Tampa and he played on the franchise tag last year) so it was a wise decision for him in terms of money.
Goldson actually didn't have much of a choice. The Patriots offered Goldson a contract less than the one-year, $2 million deal he signed with the 49ers.
The Patriots offered him a one year deal, as did the 49ers. The 49ers offered more money. This all happened before Goldon was ever considered a premiere safety.Wasn't the story as to why he didn't sign for New England that the Pats offered him a multi year deal but he took the 1 year prove it that was offer in San Fran so he could get a big contract (which he's got in Tampa and he played on the franchise tag last year) so it was a wise decision for him in terms of money.
