With all the money going to go to Thomas, and it will be rightfully so, Will we have some money to go to a wr...

What WR is there that is worth the kind of money mediocre guys like Drew Bennett are gonna get? I'd rather spend money on Thomas than a WR because I think that is a bigger need.

Donte Stallworth would be worth some bucks...

Whens the last time he has stayed healthy for any period of time? I don't want a guy who can't even stay on the field. Granted he does make a few big plays every season but for the kind of money hes going to command I wouldn't want him.

Very little of the Pat's cap space is dedicated to signing bonuses. If the Pats wanted to spend over $40M in free agency this year, they could do so by restructuring contracts, and still not destroy the teams future.

As long as BB thinks that the players he pursues have value that justifies their cap hit, he can find the room.

We don't need to spend big money or a high draft pick on a receiver. We're okay in this department.

I would not say ok... We are avg at best...

It's not a need. We would have gone to the Superbowl with our receivers had our defense not suffered injuries, a complete meltdown, or if our OC had managed to generate more than 2 first downs in the second half.

FWIW, Adam Scheffter mentioned on the Free Agent Special on NFL Network that the Chiefs may battle the Pats for Kelley Washington. He won't break the bank...

I like the idea of washington... i remember reading something about how the pats made something out of nothing with reche and could do the same with wasthington.

I would say besides the flu, the thing that effected us on offense was the lack of good WR's. That's why Brady is throwing the picks. The recievers can't get open enough and he has to sqeeze it into places he really shouldn't be throwing to. It's time we gave Brady the same advantages other lesser QB's take for granted!

If the Pats really do get Thomas, it would make 2007 free agency a complete

success. It takes veteran linebackers to make BB's system go.
