Hey Miguel, how come Yates is not on the list? Isn't he a RFA?

I would assume that indicates he was not tendered and is a FA.

Must be, my feeling was that he actually had some value seeing as how we made him the highest paid practice squader in the league.

According to Reiss, Yates's agent refused to comment. And we know the Patriots wouldn't make it a point of disclosure.

I would expect Baker to sign elsewhere and Mruczkowski to be out of football or buried on the Jets' depth chart.

Who knows, maybe they worked out a contract with him or he is gone. Billy Yates we hardly knew ye...

Maybe they really are going to draft Ben Grubbs just to play with our minds.

I was dead wrong, I thought they wouldn't get tendered.

Miguel, is it true that if the sign the tender and get cut in training camp it doesn't cost the team anything?

Yes, it has been that way for years. Nothing in the new CBA indicates that once a RFA signs his tender that he has in effect guaranteed that tender.

They also link to a page that shows the players who were qualified but not tendered, and Yates doesn't appear on it. Are we sure he was a RFA? It's like he's just disappeared...

Baker and Mruc = TC fodder, nothing more.

If they (and Izzo and Davis and Mays and Alexander and Spann) are on the 53 next season, then the FO didn't do its job.

I, too, thought that he was going to be a RFA.

He may have been an ERFA (two accrued seasons).

He did not get an accrued season in 2004 and may not gotten one in 2003.

per www.rotoworld.com

Patriots re-signed G Billy Yates to an undisclosed contract extension.
The versatile reserve was set to be a restricted free agent.
