He's the ONLY guy on our team who had the balls to step up to Mangold after that dirty hit aimed at Talibs knee.

Hightower waltzed by Mangold without saying a peep.

Not sure about the rest, but from the quick look I got it seems Dennard was the only guy who said anything. And it went from there...

After seeing our team get bullied in the playoffs for the past 5 years or so, and seeing Brady get shoved around in Pre-season by some nobody on the Lions....

It's finally good to see someone on our team stepping up.

Right now he should NOT be throwing punches at ANYONE!

He deserves a team fine.

Not only has he turned out to be a good player, but he's the ONLY guy on our team who had the balls to step up to Mangold after that dirty hit aimed at Talibs knee.

Kids been under the radar in the first few weeks but he's been lights out shutting down his receiver.

Guess you need glasses. Wilfork stepped up as well. So did Mankins and a slew of others..

That's because Hightower was SMART (unlike Dennard) and knew that the ref had already thrown a flag. Dennard should have received a penalty as well.

Your quick look needs to be more than that. Maybe you should also go back and see who it was that took the punches from Ferguson..

You do the stepping up on the field. Not on the sidelines after the play is over. That is why Mangold will be getting fined and Colon and Ferguson are looking at fines and suspension.

Need more like him. Wilfork, Spikes and Dennard, maybe Nink, seem like real piss and vinegar guys. Not sure about the rest of the D.

He didn't throw any punches, the Jets players did.

Dennard just walked up to Mangold and pointed his finger at him, telling him off. Not only was Mangolds hit late, but it was directly at Talibs knee. As dirty as your can get.

Deserves a team fine? Are you kidding me? Go watch ballet.

Deserves a team fine? Are you kidding me? If Belichick disciplines Dennard for that, he should retire and take up ballet.
He did throw a punch and with his recent problems he needs to back off.

I think it was Dennard and the much-maligned Gregory who stepped up first.

Exactly. 66 head-butted him right after he nudged Mangold. And he took a bit of a swipe, but as you said, far from a punch.

People need to think. Dennard is on the cusp of mussing games and beyond that not being in the NFL. The kid has self-control problems. He is one Patriot who needs to leave the enforcer role to others.

You're probably one of those people who condone our players standing around doing nothing while this happens.

We should do the stepping up on the field?

GTFO of here. There was approximately 37 seconds left in the game and the only play left was a kneel down.

I hope they don't use the tape of his "non-punch' at his next hearing.

Dennard got head-butted and swatted at the guy, that was not a punch.

If that's the case (I have no replay) I'm not on Dennard's case BUT I still say it's stupid for fans to want Dennard to be an enforcer for us. A stupid choice of role for a problem plagued young man.

I'm usually right there with you but the secondary is a unit and you need to defend your err... unit.

But really, I don't care if there was a flag thrown or what. Everyone whines about the Pats not being physical enough. If you let this jackass dive at your guy's knees and do nothing you are just welcoming every team to take shots at you all season.

Some people have courage.

Some people stand around while this happens to their QB in pre-season...

(Yes I will keep re-posting this to remind all you softies)

THere are 40 or so other guys to fill that role.
Not Dennard is my point.

You don't win games by being stupid. You win games by executing, minimizing mistakes, capitalizing on the other team's mistakes and letting them be stupid.

Mangold diving for Talib's knees was stupid. I'm sure Talib's dancing was pissing him off but whatever.

You live in a fantasy world if you think anything that goes down after a penalty like that will stop the penalty from happening again. It's stupid thug mentality.

Let the NFL flag him, let the NFL fine him nothing else good can come of it. What are you going to do, punch a guy wearing pads and a helmet who weighs 150 lbs more than you?

Too bad none of them have filled that role.

So I was happy to see Dennard step up.

270lbs Hightower walked by like nothing happened.
