Give your reasoning for the signing. :D

Here's mine.

WR/PR Dennis Northcutt. Fills in the PR spot. Troy Brown's getting too old for the job (might retire too). Faulk's our X factor on 3rd down, and is getting a little old for it. He's got a better PR avg last year than Welker, and we don't have to give up a 2nd round pick.

RB Ron Dayne. We are rumored to be switching to the zone blocking scheme for Maroney. Dayne is a pounder RB who has been in that scheme for the last two years.

LB Carlos Polk (or Jason Jarrett) A young, under the radar LB

I forgot about Ron Dayne, he would be a nice additon... And Dennis Northcut would be nice for us.. But I would rather have Drew Bennet, Donte Stallworth and or Kelly Washington

do you mean jarret johnson from the ravens? jason jarrett is a nascar driver who would not do to well @ lb.

Depends on whether or not his car and pit crew are included.

I've though about all three. I think Northcutt makes a great PR who would represent an upgrade over Kight and Childress as the emergency WR. Dayne is all we need to replace Dillon, a pounder who will touch the ball 5-8 times a game in short yardage situations, and who could also start for a week or two if the other guys are hurt. Both Polk and Jarrett Johnson would both be great rotation LBs, the best we've had since Pfifer.

I'd add:

WR Brandon Stokley, If healthy, could be a reasonable replacement for Branch's role in this offense.

What the hey... I can only be wrong and the whole landscape will change so I will try again...

ILB - Napolean Harris, 5 years , $23M, $6M bonus
TE - Jermaine Wiggins - 3 years, $8M, $3.5M bonus
RB - Ahman Green - 2 years, $7M, $2M bonus

Trade 4th rounder and 6th rounder for Jason Babin OLB , Houston

And a whack of JAGs, Larry Izzo, Andre Davis, Travis Taylor, and so on and so on.

Maybe Kevin Kaesviharn

In the first week: None at all.

Eventually we could pick up someone like Kelley Washington, Jarrett Johnson, Napoleon Harris.

Didn't Carlos Polk get resigned by the Chargers?

we're letting polk test the market but we want him back
, he's good for depth and ST

This is kind of a combo wishlist/prediction. It is not every player I WANT to get but a little more pie in the sky than I think we may end up with.

WR-Kelly Washington. I remember an interview with Dale and Neumy right before his draft year and he had a ton of great things to say about the Pats and their interactions with him. He felt he was coming here, or so it sounded.

LB-Polk. Adds playmaking and depth. Not to mention it takes away from a rival for the AFC title. A little older than I thought, 30, but a should have plenty left in the tank.

LB-Brian Simmons. Adds experience, a veteran pressence who can fill a Seau/Cox/Phifer type of role for whatever lb's we draft (I assume).

RB-TJ Duckett. A tough runner who you can lean on for a game or two if necessary. After a disappointing season in Washington, could come on the cheap.

DB-Deon Grant. I've heard him referred to as a very intelligent player and someone who will make plays. An experienced safety in case Rodney doesn't come back to full strength or Wilson is moved to cb. Also, if this is Rodney's last season, spends a year as his understudy and assumes the reigns in the defensive backfield.

Then a few JAG's, particularly at lb, db, and ol where BB likes to create competition.

No ... I meant the NASCAR driver. :D Seriously, do I still get credit if we sign jarret johnson? :D

Here are mine:

Kevin Curtis (ok, a long shot with everyone vying for him but a great fit)
Brian Simmons
Jarrett Johnson
Ken Hamlin or Deon Grant (I prefer both)
Travis Fisher
Chris Brown

Ok, so this list is probably a little unrealistic. Most likely they will sign around two of these guys. I think it is possible for us to get most of them though.

Adalius Thomas LB Bears
Cameron Worrel S Bears
Kelly Washington WR Bengals
Shane Mathews CB Dolphins

i think we would all like to see Adalius Thomas. i like the idea of kelley washington too, but please stop talking about drew bennett. ive seen him make some of the greatest catches, but he drops the ones that hit him in the #'s. you think caldwell had some drops? bennett will kill us every sunday. chris brown is another one. he can move a pile when he's on the field, but he's always injured.

Adalius Thomas
Joey Porter??
Eric Moulds??
Randy Moss??

I wouldn't be too suprised to see a few of these guys in Pats uniforms.

I think you may be in for a long month. I predict, at minimum, we're 2 weeks away from signing or trading for anyone. Pop some pop corn, pour yourself a cold one and dig in.

Kevin Curtis
Jarrett Johnson
Rod Hood
Deon Grant
Brian Simmons

Why would the Patriots want another TE that can not block?? They have plenty of those.

I thought he was a pretty good blocker, I could be totally wrong. It was more of a "feel good" story.

His blocking is nonexistent. As much as I understand the move…the Patriots will miss Daniel Graham’s blocking immensely! He has constantly provided a few extra seconds for Tom Brady to find an open receiver. His down field blocking is better than any Patriot since Sam Gash. And he's probably a better blocker than Gash too.
