Lloyd has rejected at least six inquiries about playing

Re: Patriots have reached out to brandon lloyd

When they reached out to him, did he immediately fall to the ground ?

Stallworth, Gaffney and/or Jenkins

PLEASE

I don't blame Lloyd, we obviously don't want him..that's why he was cut. Now that we have injury problems we reach out to him?? lol

Surprised that he rejected the 49ers..

I agree with others who say he's just not getting offered a nuff money from anyone and the guy had a hard time getting open with Welker Gronk and Hernandez on the roster he would be useless now

They said on PFW in progress that Moss was spotted in Boston.

Wasn't he diagnosed bi-polar? I would think medication would even him out, if he wanted to be treated.

But who knows what those meds do to you physically...tired..sleepy ect

Will help his problem..but could cause issues if he say had to play a game maybe? I don't know

B/R said that BB asked him about playing this year. Glad he said no. Way to try to stunt the growth of the rookie WRs by starting a mediocre nutcase again.
Although developing the rookies is important I don't want do it at the cost of winning. Lloyd had a good season. The teams needs weapons with Amendola, Gronk, and Ben Vareen hurt. A guy like Lloyd who is on page with Brady would be great to have. Nobody knows how big of a headcase he is without being in the locker room with him so it's hard to judge. BB still wants him on the team so he can't be THAT bad.
I would rather then try Hooman or Slater at WR than Brandon Lloyd right now.
Now the Lloyd hate has officially gone way too far. Slater can't catch a ball so how is he going to get any YAC?

The fact that they are even considering going after him is really bad news. It's no secret the guy was a cancer. Things must be really desperate...Dobson, Boyce etc. need to step up.

Hopefully the kids improve and Amendola and Gronk get healthy in time for the tough part of the sked. If not, the Pats may have no choice but to up their offer to BL in order to bring him in to help out.

Pats will be fine we have an automatic W this week and Gronk and Amendola will soon be back at 100%.

It actually would have been kindof funny to have him in camp catching passes from Tim Tebow given his move to force a trade when Tebow was made the starter in Denver.

As I thought months ago, he's done in the NFL.

There were a few mental illness rumors, and bipolar disorder would seem to be the most logical one considering how bipolar he reportedly is in the non-clinical sense.

don't want him. and we don't need him. we will never be elite with guys like lloyd. what we need is a freak WR who can go get it. megatron, julio jones, AJ green of the world.

we don't have that guy this year, but we can always go get that guy in the draft or in FA next year. let's not be short sighted.

I definitely agree with you on this. Llyod was serviceable, but lacked a lot of things to be a good WR2 in terms of any kind of downfield attack. We will have to deal with the growing pains of the new rookies, but it should pay off much better in the long run and for the future. We needed speed, youth, big play ability, and cost efficiency at the position. These all can be had with some patience, but it may not happen this particular year either which does leave the team with a hole to fill.

I also agree with this on some level, but not for the reasoning you provide. I don't think it's too likely that we'll be going after a guy like any of the ones you named above, especially when we re-tooled the position this season + the history of the lack of these kinds of picks overall. I highly doubt that we'd be lucky enough to find an AJ Green, Calvin Johnson, etc

On top of that Belichick does not like to sink much money into this position, and it would appear that he doesn't agree with the value placed on them in free agency either. Otherwise, we may have made a run at a guy like Greg Jennings or Anquan Boldin, who were both fairly expensive. There's just absolutely no way that Belichick will ever dedicate the salary cap percentage to attempt to bring in a guy like Mike Wallace etc. That's just not going to happen.

Where I agree is your comment about "not being short sighted." I think that's spot on. If everyone is patient and they continue to build up a chemistry and rapport, then a guy like Thompkins or Dobson may be able to be that kind of reliable target, on a much lesser level that the examples that you provided of course but with better value.

Emmanuel Sanders will be an unrestricted free agent next year. ;)

I am confindent that Aron Dobson will be the guy who go up and get it. Thompkins seem to have that ability too...we just have to be a little patient but agree NO! to Lloyd.:snob:
