According to John Tomase on Felger's show, insiders told him at the combine that Jackson's ACL was not only partially torn and he could be ready for training camp. He did have surgery, but it was immediately after the AFC Championships which means the swelling wasn't that bad since it usually takes weeks before you can operate on a full ACL tear.

I will take it with a grain of salt, but it might be encouraging that we won't lose another year of development of this guy.

that's what I'm hoping for.............

That's what I suspected but it's good to see it somewhat confirmed.

That is the first I have heard anyone speculate to the severity. Very good news. I think a lot of people both on this board and in the media figured it to be worse than that.

Thanks. Tomase may be ugly and disliked by some but his sources were pretty decent last year and we all picked up on his fast surgery likely meaning it wasn't a full tear.

Good news indeed.

Now he can hopefully get on the field and actually do something to help the team.

Yes Baby CJ's time is now A Wr tandem of Jackon and meachem is closer to happening I love it!

That is very good news. If true, does it impact whether the Patriots draft a receiver on the first day?

I still think we need a major upgrade in this position, because healthy or not , he cant be counted on just yet...

If it answers your question, the Patriots will take the pest player available to them at any and all points of the draft. That is all I can say.

As for free agency, I expect us to bring in guys like Kelly Washington, Bobby Engram, Travis Taylor and Dennis Northcutt and let them slug it out for a roster spot or two.

Coaches probably knew way before us so i probably didnt impact. Coaches could have WR as a big priority even after knowing its partially torn and they might also have a WR top priority or not wether CJ was healthy or not

That is great news! Chad Jackson is SOOOOOOOOOOO TIGHT!

Brady + Maroney + Jackson = TIGHTNESS!

God I hope you are wrong. I'd really like them to sign a quality player like Bennett, Curtis, or Stallworth. Of course, if those guys are getting insane contracts, then let them go ahead and sign elsewhere. But I hope the Patriots will be at least throwing out a few decent offers at viable wide receivers.

I still want a vet, but I hope to god this is true!

So the next time Tomase reports something we DON'T want to hear does he go back to being a worthless know-nothing bum again? ;)

:rocker:

Nice, seems to make sense and fit in with what we were speculating over in the CJ thread.

If true, great news for CJ & great news for the Pats. Good work by Tomase, don't know why some folks are hard on him, he seems pretty solid to me.

ok this is the best Possible news.

besides "it was all made up". I guess that would be the best possible news but i'm h appy after reading this.
good stuff.

abolutely gotta be selfserving

Hope it's true but I still think it's overly optimistic that he'll be ready to go by the time camp rolls around.

Where are you from? Why do you use that ridiculously stupid word? "TIGHT" Stop ball washing. . . . . . .
