Prior to the Pats signing Tebow 31 teams passed on his talent...

After the Pats released him, 31 teams passed on him again..

He is saying that he only wants to be an NFL QB... no CFL for Timmy.

But there is an offer on the table..

LA KISS offer Tim Tebow contract - The Buzz - Boston.com sports news

The Arena Football League team LA KISS has offered former Patriot Tim Tebow a chance to play quarterback.

The three-year deal would make free agent Tebow "millions" of dollars from the team, owned by the veteran rock band Kiss, said in a statement.

"As a former NFL player, the LA KISS will offer intense training and unwavered commitment to the former New England Patriots player, with the hopes to take him to the next level," the statement said. "The chance for Tebow to improve as a quarterback is immense as the AFL is a pass-happy league with 90 percent of the league's offensive plays coming from throwing the ball."

LOL, he could appear in ads Tebowing with his tongue hanging out in and in black and white makeup! I'm sure he's thinking, "Where do I sign?"

Tim genuinely wants to be a successful QB in the NFL. Whether you agree with whether he can actually do it or not is of no consequence. I think it's an admirable dream to pursue.

If the AFL can help him further to achieve that dream I think he should consider their offer. The real question whether he really believes it will help him or not, and if he might feel it's a marketing ploy more than anything else.

Millions of dollars for the AFL seems excessive especially for a guy that couldn't crack an NFL roster. I doubt many NFL cast-offs are getting multi-million dollar offers to play in any league. You'd then have to really wonder whether they have the player's best interest at heart.

This is an interesting topic to me, and not only about Tebow: what do we think in general of players who say "It's quarterback or bust"? (Tebow HAS received other offers to stay in the NFL if he would be willing to change positions, but has consistently refused.)

On the one hand, there's something admirable about aiming high and sticking to your dreams. I certainly felt that way in the past about black athletes who were constantly urged to change positions before black qbs were accepted. Perseverance, faith, ambition and hard work. Amen.

But on the other hand, isn't it also kind of like the girl who insists she'll only play the princess in the school play? Or to put it another way, somebody compared this situation to the classic joke about the guy trapped in a flood who keeps refusing help, saying "God will provide." And God says "Look, I sent you an offer to play fullback, and an offer to play tight end...."

Plus isn't there also something admirable about a guy like Julian Edelman, a lifelong QB who says "Just give me a chance. I'll play WR, I'll return punts, I'll sub in at DB, I'll do whatever it takes to help the team and make it in the NFL"?

I was hoping we'd be done with these unnecessary spiteful threads when the season started but I guess not.

Honestly, I agree with you about the unnecessary spite. I was about to merge the thread...until I replied to it instead.

I have nothing against Tebow, it's just a question that has always interested me in general. Is insisting on playing QB in the face of coaches who want you to change positions admirable or selfish/stubborn?

You realize they would be exploiting him as a gimmick to get media attention right?

To be fair, it seems the OP was being "jokeful" rather than spiteful.

I think it's a mixture, since it may be admirable to first give it a shot.

But then when you have really given it your best shot and reasonable football lifers like Bill Belichick and others say it's a no-go, then it becomes stubborn.

Hines Ward and Antwan Randel-El probably dreamed of being NFL QBs too after good college careers, but they made wise choices.

I disagree with this completely.

I think people mistake Tebow's dream of being an NFL QB with just being in the NFL at all. It's not his dream to be anything other than a QB, so his motivation to be a RB/FB/TE is probably akin to a law school grad failing the bar being told they should become a paralegal.

Though in the case of Tebow, he was already a starter in the NFL and his team enjoyed relative success with him as a starter... regardless of how some people distribute the credit of the Broncos success. I don't think that Trent Dilfer or the Ravens would trade the manner in which they won that SuperBowl with a more talented QB/more elegant offense that lost in the playoffs.

IMO when it comes to football:

#1 = Winning
#2
#3
#4
.... #1,000,000 = Looking pretty.

it's the reason hes no longer a patriot.

Its also the reason the only team he might play for the rest of his career is the jags.

Honestly, that's where he should be. He is of no use to the Patriots right now.

No, he wasn't.

You know that how?? If you note the title it was captioned "offer" and meant to be tongue in cheek.. when I read the piece I thought it was funny.

Maybe next time I should check with you, as you seem to know best.

I've read your posts on other forums. The kid's off the team right now and the season is fully under way with us playing the JETS this week, of all teams, and you still come up with a way to post a thread bashing Tebow. Further, the ultra defensive tone of your response, quoted above, is nothing but confirmation.

Why do people care weather or not Tebow wants to be a QB? It's his life. He doesn't have to change positions if he doesn't want to. If QBing is his dream then go for it. Doesn't mean he'll make it but it's not like he's hurting anybody in the process.

And honestly, on the Jags, he would be an improvement. Blaine Gabbert is just terrible.

You wanted the best you got the best the hottest quarterback in the world Timmy.

Gene Simmons will do anything for a buck. He'll talk him into selling the Tebow caskets to go with the Kiss ones in no time.
