I think because the CB and WR talent is so deep that you can land some real studs at 24 and 28. Thus BPA wise I'd probably pick from those first. If by some dumb luck Willis falls to 24 of course I take him but I think there's real fall off at ILB after that so I'd wait till rounds 2 and 3 to go after guys like Harris, Siler, DeOssie, etc.

It's interesting how differently we see this draft! I still find the CB crop relatively uninspiring when you look at the qualities the Pats reliably draft for in DBs -- ball skills and tracking, field awareness/reaction, and tackling/run support. (Size, speed, loose hips and pure downfield cover skills seem a much smaller part of the equation.)

Whereas I do like this class of ILB prospects quite a bit. I'd be content with Willis OR Harris in round 1, Bradley or DeOssie in 2-3. That's a pretty significant group for a position that's generally hard to draft toward. And I love the safeties. Landry, Nelson, Griffin, Weddle, Piscitelli, Gattis and Wendling all look like great fits on day one.

I am not sure there are a lot of ILB out there but unlike other years I think there are a few guys that do fit our system and where we usually draft best availabe it might be hard to pass up someone who fits our needs and fits a position that has been dificult to fill the past 2 years.

I agree IMO Harris is one of a few LB out there that fit our system and needs. as he is an ILB in the 3-4 and we have two starting OLB and only Bruschi on the inside.

I like Harris but I don't think any rookie will start at ILB. Ideally the player could be used in a limited rotation to get some reps and then take over in years 2-3.

ILB is an obvious position of need but I still see Harris as a stretch for round 1. Pick 28 is too high, maybe we trade back and take Harris and get another pick or they trade up from 60 to take him.

He looks like a good, solid player but not special. I will be happy if the Pats draft 1 of these 3 players in rounds 2 or 3 and sign an above average veteran to start at ILB. (Harris, Bradley, DeOzzie)

OLB - If they really like Moss or Spencer maybe they grab them in round 1 otherwise there looks to be some Day 2 players available.

Always go for best talent imo. Picking a lesser talent just because there is a shallow talent pool at the position and a need is really doing your team a disservice in the long run.

Harris and Siler will be long gone before they get to you in round two. In fact, I have 4 LBs being selected in round 1, and three of them our ILBs, David Harris, Brandon Siler, and Patrick Willis. Lawrence Timmons of Florida Stae who can play either the SAM or WIL I have in round one.

I am personally enamored with this kid and I would love to see him taken with the 28, and have our 24 focused on safety or WR, notably Reggie Nelson if he slips, Brandon Meriweather, Michael Griffin, or Robert Meachem.

Mechum and harris sound good to me, 2 good players that fill 2 needs

Definately agree,Maybe the two guys in the bottom of round one with the most value..If they are there at the time,Could not pick a better two for the Pats to draft early.
