Doesn't AdamJT13 usually come up with his projections for the compensatory picks about this time of year? I am hoping we can pull of 4 picks this year, and Adam is usually very accurate, so if anyone see his projections, please post here!

pretty sure we are looking at a 4, 2 6's, and a 7

If that is the case, i would take it...Since we have no 5th round pick this yr...

it will be something close to that... we have no 5, but we have an extra high 6, so it is really like we just slid that 5 down about 10 slots.

We should find out on 3/19 or 3/20. that is when the owners meeting takes place and the comp picks are usually announced then.

do they give out low round comp picks? if so, i'd think the AV loss might get us a three.

The formula/schema for distributing the picks is heavily weighted towards the salary of the player that a team lost, and AV's salary with Indy is no where close to a #3 pick level if the formula has not been changed in the most recent round of the CBA. I think that his level will be that of a high 6th rounder and Givens will be the 4th Rounder.

As a sidenote, with the escalation of probable contract values in this offseason, will we see an explosion of 3rd and 4th round comp picks next year as the min vet salaries are not escalating at the same rate as the overall salary cap and that seems to be one of the major determinants of the bend points in the formula as used by AdamJT

The Vinatieri loss is one of those that will most likely net us a 6th, as compensatory picks are valued based on contract size, not HoF candidacy.

EDIT: Obviously fester did a better job on this one.

So I guess this is when we start rooting for Daniel Graham to make a MINT this off-season, which it sounds like he will. Back up the Brinks truck, Cincy/Minny/Seattle/Denver...

Isn't Kraft hoping for a consolidated third, in lieu of a few of the others?

Hopefully, we won't be getting any compensatory picks next year.

not so sure... i dont want to give an 18M bonus for a 30 yr old LB

What if Kraft did instead? ;)

Or what about Kawika Mitchell, Napoleon Harris, Antwan Peek, Jarret Johnson, etc, etc.

We could shop in the "cut" aisle if we want to protect our compensatory picks, I suppose. Joey Porter perhaps?
