I expect lots and lots of transactions from Belichick before the patriots suit up for Game 3.

This past week was relatively tame, on a net basis, after the final roster cut to 51. We added two players (Barker and White) and cut/re-signed four others.

W've tried out a dozen players. I'm sure many more will be in. Also, veteran contracts are no longer guaranteed. Finally, I think that we will have learned a lot about what we have in these first tow games and in all the practices before Game 3.

Not quite: the entire salary is not guaranteed, but vets are still guaranteed the balance of the initial 25% of their base salary, or one week's salary (up to the 10-year minimum of about $50,000), whichever is greater.

Cut blount.

Awful. I see him return another kick im swapping to game of choice after hitting the local liquor store for a handle of eagle and a Dutch. Might as well get on a level with the coaching staff.

To be honest, I hope we bring back Washington or Reggie Dunn to help the kick return game, and a TE like Fells.

Washington was already re-signed.

That kick return was a thing of total ****.... worst thing ever.

As far as transactions, Gronk's health is the only one that matters.

I would cut Develin, Barker, and add Fells or Ballard, maybe even both.

I would consider promoting Sims from the practice squad and putting Dobson on in season IR if he isn't back on the field this week.

its funny cause they have a rookie WR on the roster that can run a 4.3 40 and was one of the best KR/PR in college football yet they have a 240lbs RB doing the KR's

Why does a player Blount's size look like a ballerina plodder all of the time? He looks soft, slow, lazy and lacks any burst to ever be a legit KR in the NFL.

Boyce > Blount

How was Boyce one of the best KR in college ? He only had 3 KR his whole college career and 0 PR his whole college career. Granted, he did average 31.00 yards per kick return, so the potential is there with his great speed and open field running ability.

Can't Be worse than Blount. Maybe a few ko returns help the kid get things going? Get him involved in the game, build some confidence, etc.

On another note, why is Washington on the roster I'd we aren't going to have him return kicks? Confused...

I'm with most of you on Blount, get rid of him. If Bolden's not ready, sign a RB or bring one up from the practice squad (can't remember if we have one on there or not). Get rid of Develin too if you're not going to use him on offense.

Again, with those who said bring back Fells.

Activate Dobson and Washington Thursday. Washington or Boyce on KR.

NFW do we get rid of Blount with Bolden hurt. Blount even returned a KO past the 20, something that was rare last year.

We'll see Dobson & Washington Thurs. I'm tempted to sit DA. The season is long and the Jets are not gonna take the AFCE from us.

1) Sure Boyce could be worse. He could fumble. If Belichick had faith in Boyce, he would have been returning kicks.

2) I haven't a clue with regard to why Washington wasn't active. In any case, I expect him to be active on Thursday, barring injury.

3) Blount would probably have been benched for Bolden as a running back, but Bolden is injured.

The Vereen news today certainly adds intrigue to the topic of roster reinforcements.

On Offense, the only positions that are really "set" are Quarterback and Offensive Line. Every other position has major questions.

At Running Back, Stevan Ridley has top hold onto the ball or he will be a liability. Blount is a former 1000 yard rusher who should contribute, but he doesn't run consistently. Bolden becomes the top change of pace option with Vereen breaking his wrist (and depending on severity he could be the IR-DTR for the year). Washington will probably be given a shot on kickoffs.

At Wide Receiver, Amendola's groin injury is a major concern. If he can't go, this offense is dead in the water and this team is done. Edelman is also a major injury concern, and while he has some explosiveness, I question his capability as a consistent starter. Meanwhile the rookies obviously need major work. If none of Thompkins, Boyce or Dobson can contribute in any meaningful way, one needs to be sent out and a Veteran needs to be brought in (Jenkins/Branch/Stallworth?)

At Tight End, there is literally nobody. Hooman is pretty much a liability and Sudfeld can't block and doesn't have consistent hands. He is also a huge injury question. Once Gronk gets back who knows how good he will be? The Pats need to add someone here (Daniel Fells/Jake Ballard).

Defensively, it's too soon to say where the major issues are at. Defensive Line depth is an issue, and I would like to see a vet added at both DT and DE. Otherwise, the DBs are better than they've been in a while and it's the best you'll find at this time.

So to recap...

* Vereen to IR-DTR / If Bolden/Washington can't return soon and contribute sign a veteran. Plenty out there.

* If Amendola can't go for a while and rookies fail, a veteran needs to be brought in. Jenkins or Stallworth perhaps.

* Fells, Ballard... one or both NEED to come back.

* Any capable DE/DT on market. Vallone/Buchanan/Bequette can't cut it.

Beauharnais, Barker, and Kline were the healthy scratches (game day inactive) yesterday.

If/when roster space is needed for additional signings I would think that Barker and Kline would be the most likely candidates to be released.

My list of the vulnerable include your 3 (Beauharnais, Barker and Kline) as well as White and Develin.
