Was just listening to Kelley minutes ago on Sirius and was talking about all the potential teams he may go to and he was especially complimentary when mentioning Brady as a QB that he may end up pairing with because he thinks he would be better just being on the same field with Tom.

Sounds like a good guy who has his head on straight(thats RARE in Cincinnati).

Would make a superb 2nd or 3rd string WR IMO.

Just has to stay healthy to have a decent year..He definately has the talent.

He would love to come here, might be worth a shot.

With the serious void in WR talent on this Patriot team I think it might be best to take the "throw all you can at it and see which one sticks" approach.

It can't be much worse than what it is now.

Too many good recievers over there for him to show anything.
I`d pick him up price would be low

i was very angry when we took bethel johnson
cuz i wanted kelley washington
he had serious head and neck probs
and i personally know how hard that can be while playing football, let me tell you that it has def hampered his play and taken away from his ability
still, i would def love to take a shot on this guy
he would prob come really cheap too

Washington came in for a pre-draft workout at Foxboro. I was surprised when we didn't draft him.

He looked like an emerging star in 2003 until Housch came out of nowhere. I'd say he's one of the most likely WR targets for us.

Is he a FA?

I remember that, spacecrime. Would be nice if he's healthy. Maybe BB's still interested. However, he's played in a total of 12 games the last two years, amassing 19 catches. Anybody know his health status????

Well its encouraging that he clearly "gets it." However, as patsox said, 12 games and 19 catches over the past two seasons doesn't look very promising. :(

which will help him come at vet min for his level
and compte for a roster spot

Thats one way of looking at it. I sort of saw that and thought "injury problems" myself, though.

Remember he played behind Johnson, Housh, and Henry. Not all teams get the ball to the No. 4 receiver.

In terms of price, that's very promising. Offer vet minimum with incentives on a two year deal, let him prove himself.

My understanding, though, is that his lack of production over the past few years has been due to injury, rather than being outshined by the other receivers. He should've had a chance to gain some attention this year when Henry was benched due to his various, um, transgressions, yet he ended up doing little and then being put on IR when they picked up WR Skyler Green.

Washington is a very good ST player and is considered to be a good character guy, having turned his live around after being a knucklehead in his youth.

I just re-read the write up about him in Kipers guide for 2003. He had the same problems in college- couldn't stay healthy. But, he was spectacular when he did play.

if i remember correctly he had one good game this year then went awol. The game may have been close to the beginning of the season. at the time i thought he turned the corner, but nope.

physically he is very talented 6'3 220 range. maybe he is a late bloomer.

Yes, he does have good size. He could be worth a look, I'm just saying that I wouldn't get your hopes up based on how he failed to materialize in Cincy, even though he should have had the opportunity. I know the Bengals aren't the best team overall, but he did have Carson Palmer throwing to him.

I understand what you mean. A good vet min would make me happy.
