Too old....Retirement may be more likely than a team signing him at this point,Maybe good for a team who needs a backup TE like Atlanta,San Diego or KC.

Maybe...but I feel like if we wanted him we wouldn't have let him go in the first place.

Fauria scored the first-ever regular-season touchdown in Gillette Stadium. Remember his trademark between-the-legs spike?

Fauria was a great Pat, and I liked him a lot as a player while he was here. That said, he is a better receiving TE than a blocker, and if we do indeed lose Graham, we will need a blocking TE to replace him, not another receiver.

Ditto that. Love Fauria, but no need.

haha yeah i remembet that, vs the steelers

i remember one catch i think it was a two pt conversion vs the fish he had once diving in the corner of the endzone, i always liked the guy, but i dont think hell be comin back anytime soon

I always liked the guy, will prob retire, he was a good player, his wife was hot

He was definitely a good guy. I didn't know he was that old.

I'd like to see him wear a Pats uni for one last year before retiring. I remember him being just plain cool; he always had a good comment, never did anything stupid on or off the field, and came up with the occasional big play. His locker room presence alone would justify his roster spot.

The funny part is that the buzz in DC when they signed him was that he was this great blocking TE, including members of the Redskins. I have no idea where they got that from. The cluelessness of the Redskins organization never ceases to amaze.

Loved the spike.

Didn't he get hurt toward the end of the season? I think I remember seeing him on crutches on some local interview show. He was commenting on the Pats in the playoffs. He was his good guy usual self.

I recall him being a pretty good blocker. Not Dan Graham's level though.

Garret and Mills are good blockers might be a good pick up not a lot of cash

I was definitely a fan of Fauria, and I know that he is still interested in the Patriots.

Do you remember how he would always do the Sunday Night Sports show on NBC (Sports Xtra?)? Well, he even did it once last season during the NFL playoffs (being a Skins player he had nothing better to do).

As mentioned earlier, it would be nice to have him back because we all have nice things to say about him, but it just doesn't make sense from the team aspect. We need a blocker, not an old receiving TE. I won't be disappointed if they do pick him up though.

Funny how memory works, isn't it? I remember some excellent end-zone catches, good defense against on-side kicks, a few witty comments to journalists -- and your last point. ;)
