I probably hate it as much as you like it. Wendling and Leonard I'm okay with, but I will be very, very disappointed with Rice and the two Seminoles with our first three picks.

I have to agree with Dryheat on this one, those first 2 rounds would not make me a very happy person at all.

Draft Tek changes the mocks every other day so it's a fun site. I don't think Timmons, Davis or Rice are fits here but the good news is tomorrow it'll be Nelson, Spencer and Harris and I'll be happy again. :D

I'm not all that hot on Timmons right now. But, Davis is very good.

The thing about Davis is he's only 5 11' so he doesn't fit the prototype for our ILBs.

And I like it. I like it alot. We don't get Gonzales or DeOssie but I still like it.:rocker:

You are nuts my friend, a horrible draft.

Let's update things a bit folks, Davis is 5'9" and weighed in a paltry 239 at the Combine. Timmons is 5 lbs lighter, at a towering 6'. Pro OL are going to swallow those guys if you don't hide them behind some wide loads.

BAD mock IMO, they have Greg Olsen going late second...after his combine he'll go top 20, anyways real quick here's how I would've done it...

1a. Chris Houston- I know I'm pimping this guy big time, but look at his senior year where he stepped his game up, that coupled with unreal strength and speed make him a no brainer

1b. Paul Posluszny- how one year can hurt you....last year's draft he would've been top ten

2. Antonio Pittman

3. Manny Ramirez

4. Brian Leonard

Gotta agree with those who don't like this draft. Getting great values in Wendling and Leonard doesn't mitigate for the poor usage of the first three picks IMO.

I would be happy with the Pos and Leonard, but Manny Ramirez will not show up to camp in time.:D Why draft Pittman and Leonard? Seems silly with Faulk,Evans, and Mills. We could use the 2nd rounder on a WR or CB. I do think Houston is a reach at 24.

Ok. It sucks!

And I suck for saying it doesn't suck.

:D Spot on! :rocker:

About the only good thing about it (for the Pats) is that it has Brian Leonard going to them in the fourth instead of the second. :)

They had us:

24. Lawrence Timmons, ILB
28. Sidney Rice, WR
60. Buster Davis, ILB
91. John Wendling, S
123. Brian Leonard, FB/RB
165. Courtnay Taylor, WR
187. DeAndre Jackson, CB
219. Zak Latimer, ILB

I'd have us (based on their mock):

24. Chris Houston, CB
28. Robert Meachem, WR
60. Stewart Bradley, ILB
91. Joe Newton, TE
123. Brian Leonard, FB/RB
165. Rhema McKnight, WR
187. Zack DeOssie, ILB/OLB
219. Jordan Palmer, QB

(btw, Jordan Palmer seems like a good late round project QB, along the lines of Brady and Cassel)

I like your draft better but it has 6 players that I happen to like and I would be dancing in the streets with those players and I will just list the numbers 24,28,60,123,165,187.

I only like the 3rd and 4th rounds of this draft. Otherwise it scks.

Ok. It sucks!

And I suck for saying it doesn't suck.

Never run yourself down, shirt. Your friends will do a better job, and what's more, they'll stay at it longer.:D

And we'll enjoy the work enough to do it right.

One of my best friends is a walk-on LB at FSU and he says Timmons is the real deal, as good if not better than Ernie Sims. That being said, I don't see how Timmons fits our system. I wouldn't be dissapointed, but I definitely would be surprised. Why is everyone so down on Sidney Rice? I think the guy has the athleticism needed to be a huge redzone threat for us. As far as Buster Davis goes, another player I like, but I don't see as a good fit in our defense. Not that it is relevant but I played against him in high school. The later rounds are solid though. I'd say this was an average draft, one I wouldn't hate, but wouldn't really be thrilled with.

As for Rice, I think people don't like the fact he has trouble going over the middle.

Now, I will admit he's added 4.5" to his vertical since he put up a 35" vertical in college. That will help him unless he's unwilling to go up for balls and fight for them.
