Please post your comments, knee jerk reactions, and insightful observations about tonight's Patriots 3rd pre-season game vs Detriot, on this thread.

The game will be on TV tonight on the Patriots TV Network starting at 7:30PM.

Patriots vs. Lions Broadcast Information Those of you on the West Coast can fly to Hawaii:D

This is the game that is suppose to be played more like a regular season game, or so they say.

Let hope for a good game with no injuries.

Looking forward to seeing the young receivers, as well as the older but unproven guys like Edelman and Vereen. With Amendola presumably out tonight, this should be a great opportunity for those guys to step up.

Apparently Wilfork is dealing with something.

Vince Wilfork is working out with strength and conditioning coach Harold Nash right now, and that's not a common thing for the defensive leader. One-on-one workouts at this point before kickoff is typically the sign of a player who is working through a minor injury, so it's possible Wilfork is dealing with something. Wilfork was doing some quick running in the end zone to simulate coming out of his stance at the line of scrimmage.
There's no visible brace or anything, but Nash is loosening up Wilfork's legs as he lies on his back. Again, consider it minor.

I'll be following the game through this thread tonight and taping it as it airs later. Hope for a good game with no injuries.

According to @JosinaAnderson (via Jeff Howe) Calvin Johnson isn't playing tonight.

And just in case people missed it in the other thread, the game will be live on patriots.com.

Listening to the Pre-Game Social. They said he was...

-Thompkins vs. Dobson, the deciding game for who will start across Amendola week 1.

-Who deserves to be TE1 and TE2 when Gronk returns: Ballard, Sudfeld, or Fells?

Sounds like a last-minute thing. The Lions have confirmed it though. That has to be disappointing for coaches wanting a better look at the secondary.

It should be interesting how Bolden plays tonight.

Their first team offense was awful last game without Calvin in there. Lets temper our enthusiasm if the Pats secondary look like world beaters tonight.

Boy, I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope it's VERY minor.

If there's any question, they should just let him rest until the opener like Amendola will presumably be doing.

. @FieldYates: In radio interview with @ScottZolak, Bill Belichick says he believes he has "maybe 80 percent" of 53-man roster set entering tonight's game.

42 locks sounds right.

Dowling is not playing this game. He was taping his ankle in the lockerroom and pulled a muscle in his back.

Sooooo close to making it back on the field.

Where'd the Pats-Lions game thread go?

I can't find it on the front page. . . .

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Ebner ends up on IR. :(

Still no Ebner.

BTW. . . . did this thread "disappear" for anyone else?

Here is a list of those who Reiss thinks will not play tonight.

Also,
On the other end of the spectrum, both safety Devin McCourty and guard Dan Connolly are dressed for the first time this preseason. Each underwent offseason shoulder surgery that has limited them thus far in training camp.

I'm actually disappointed Calvin Johnson isn't playing.
