All Eyes Will Be On Patriots QB Tim Tebow Tonight
By: Ian Logue

Never before could two games mean so much for one player, and tonight's match-up against the Detroit Lions happens to fall into that category for Tim Tebow. ...

Perfect

Let him and Mallet have a ball (no pun intended).

Keep Brady and the rest of the 1st team out of this bloodbath.

Not my virgin eyes hopefully, I hope BB give Ryan Mallet the Lions share in this game knowing he's our Back-up QB going in. I would also give Mallett most of the Final Preseason game too knowing and hoping ;)that's the most he'll play this season.

this is the night......Tebow will get bruised ribs......

But i dont wanna watch tebow!

Why would Tebow even be playing tonight. The 3rd game is for potential regular season contributors so Brady and Mallett should be playing. Tebow can play a lot next week in the final preseason game. Of course I have no idea why Tebow is still on the team this week not to mention next week.

I am the biggest Belichick homer of all but if Tebow makes the final roster this will be the beginning of the end for the Patriots run. I must express again my disappointment that someone who is such a non contributor not only takes up a valuable roster spot but wastes practice time is still on the roster.

Please don't give me this crap about he could help if Brady went down or he could develop as Brady's successor or that he provides a practice player for offenses with a read option offense.

Play TFB 2.5 quarters and Mallett 1.5 quarters,

or

TFB 1.5 quarters and Mallett 2.5 quarters.

Let TT be the snaps eater in game 4, playing 3 quarters or more, and then give him his lovely parting gifts.

Tonight you probably won't. According to Patriots Today they expect the first string to play the entire first half and possibly a complete set of downs at the start of the third quarter. I expect Mallett to take most if not all of the snaps after that.

Next week will be a different story altogether as the first string will not play.

P.S. Palm Beach beat me to the punch by 6 minutes. :)

Its quotes like the one above that lend credence to the statement that for whatever reason the mere mention of the word "Tebow" can drive otherwise sane people completely insane.

Forgive the rest us for not really putting much stock in your "opinion" of what will trigger the "beginning of the end" of the Patriots run.

No offense, but if Tebow makes this team, then I will presume it is because BB and the rest of the staff thinks it will help them win games. Personally, I don't think he should either, but I let the pros make personnel decisions about what will make this team better. Fandom is bigger then anyone one player on the team.

never before have I seen a player with so much publicity being forced to go through the motions before inevitably being cut

If a third string quarterback makes the team, that will be the end of the Patriots run? I agree with you that, with what we've seen so far, there is no reason for Tebow to make the team. He has looked brutally god awful to this point. But that statement is absolutely insane. He's a third string quarterback and, should be make the team, won't see the field unless there is an absolute catastrophe at the quarterback position.

Tebow can stick around for preseason game number 4. Wouldn't mind to see Mallet play that entire game either though. I don't expect Tebow to be on the 53 man roster come the regular season. I just don't know who you'd cut in order to keep him.

I kind of feel bad for him since he seems like a good person. He just doesn't have what it takes to be a quarterback in a passing offense in the NFL. Not a knock on the guy. I mean only about 64 guys in the world get the job. Half of them don't even play.

There's a big gap between good/great quarterbacks and just regular starting quarterbacks to begin with. A guy thats trying to hang on as a third quarterback is rarely ever going to contriute much.

Being a Patriot's fan, I will be rooting for Tebow to have a great night. He's a great person, and I want to see him succeed. BUT, if he plays like he has in the 1st 2 games, he desrves to be cut, plain and simple. No player has played this poorly, yet has lasted this long. So if his performance is the same, then BB has no choice but to cut him.

Nah. I've learned my lesson - I'll be turning the channel once Tebow enters the game.

Tim Tebow should remain on the roster irregardless of what happens tonight:

1. Most of NFL teams keep 3 qbs on the roster

2. Tebow is multi-talented he can play HB, FB and TE and ST. Plus he's a great leader in the lockeroom yes we already have TB12 but another good guy in the lockeroom can't hut.

3. Tebow is still learning the offense. Yes, Mcdaniels is the coordinator but there are new plays and schemes Tebow is learning.

How about OT, OG, C, DT, OLB, ILB and anything else you can imagine?

No, just no

When has what other teams do ever have ANY baring on what BB does?

2. Tebow is multi-talented he can play HB, FB and TE and ST. Plus he's a great leader in the lockeroom yes we already have TB12 but another good guy in the lockeroom can't hut.

He can't play HB as well as the current HBs on the roster, the Patriots rarely, if ever use a FB in the regular season and Tebow has NEVER played TE, nor is he as good as Ballard, Fells, Hooman or STUDfeld + some guy called Gronk, don't know if you've heard of him?

He isn't a "great leader" either, he has divided both previous NFL locker rooms he has been in, that is the opposite of a great leader.

3. Tebow is still learning the offense. Yes, Mcdaniels is the coordinator but there are new plays and schemes Tebow is learning.

Boo Hoo if he hasn't learnt the offense by now he deserves cutting.

Tebow trolls, urgh these clowns leaving the board will be the best thing about him being cut.

Yeah very funny. Tim Tebow is a winner he helped a 1-4 Broncos team go 8-8, make the playoffs and beat the Steelers until he had the misfortune of bumping into Belichick and Brady. He's a useful player who hopefully will be a solid starting NFL QB somewhere. Maybe here down the road whenever Brady retires but it will probably be in Jacksonville or the Jets after Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez are both cut and Rex Ryan is fired.

Tebow is a winner who can help us. Keep him.
