Solomon states (and he was adamant about it) that Brady Quinn will not be anywhere near the top of the draft class this year,In fact he said that he would be shocked if Quinn was drafted by number 10 pick, sort of like Leinart last year.

He thinks the cameras at the draft will be on Quinn showing his concern as draft picks go by and does not think he is that good as deserving of a first rounder high pick and kind of hinted that Notre Dame being the 'big school' was the reason he is where he is at,more on tradition than personal attributes and he said put this down on paper,no way does he go higher than 10. - BTW This was heard on Sirius earlier yesterday.

I don't know about this,I think Brady Quinn will be drafted as pick #7 to the Minnesota Vikings and will work under David Carr who Minny will trade for...Brad Johnson is all but gone.

Mel Kiper was actually picking them to go to Miami which I personally think will be an instant upgrade for their offense. I think Brady Quinn is going to show a lot of people up in his career in the NFL. He's got the size, accuracy, arm strength, and athletecism to make it in the pros.

Yeah Although can you imagine of how much money Brady Quinn lost by getting beat down by his rival QB in the bowl game JaMarcus Russell? - You might concider last years games several million dollar loss by Quinn's terrible performance causing him to be underneath Russell in recent mock draft boards.

I can see Russell going at #1 to the Raiders,No way do the Raiders keep thier current QB situation unless they pick up Carr in FA to which then the Raiders would grab Calvin Johnson and then I think the Lions would take Russell at #2.

Yeah but let's not forget that Russell had a far superior team on both sides of the ball. The LSU defense was basically fast enough to COMPLETELY shut down the ND wide receivers. I'd still much rather have Quinn for the same reasons, but add on to it that he played in a pro style offense with Weiss.

I do agree theres no doubt in my mind Brady Quinn will be a better pro QB than JaMarcus for many reasons, first with his talent then including the history of that school with guys like Montana and Theismann along with the top coaching tutilage of Charlie Weis, just the history of Notre Dame makes you respect any QB coming out, especially in the first round (not counting the great Rick Mirer of course :) ).

Wilcotts is really wrong. Theres no way Minnesota passes over Brady Quinn. Then if for some idiotic reason they do pass over him, Miami will take him. I think its a lock he goes top 10.

Two months to go until the draft, so I'd prefer to see how his workouts go. Plus, Wilcots is the same guy who was adamant (regarding the Bengals) that character does not matter, it's if the guy can play or not.

you seem to be one of the few people to realize this. discussing the draft before workouts and free agency is pretty pointless.

that aside, i think (gotta avoid slander) solomon wilcots is a tool more concerned with making headlines than the merits of what he says. it obviously worked since it got his article posted here.

what we do know is that Brady Quinn will be drafted lower this year than if he had entered the draft last year. Leinart and Quinn have shown that if you hang around people will look for faults and cast you aside for something newer and sexier. if you have a chance to go in the top 3 after your junior year enter the draft.

I agree with you. I think he would be a great fit for a team like Minny. I suspect that Detroit might also be interested.

This is a really weird prediction by Wilcotts.

What he should have said is that Quinn shouldn't be drafted in the top ten, instead of saying he will not be.

Two Reasons:

One is hype. Hype can make a player seem much better than he is, and even though NFL scouts are paid to cut through the hype and see the truth, they're opinions of players are always affected by hype. Brady Quinn is one of the most hyped players in this draft.

The second reason is that when making their picks teams will do some completely unpredictable and sometimes just plain stupid things. Who would have thought Donte Whitner would have been a top ten pick last year? What about when the Raiders drafted a kicker in the first round. The point is that even if a player doesn't appear to be that good, who the heck knows what the teams are thinking?

If the Dolphins really want Quinn they should start to think about a trade with Washington to move up over Vikes and Texans. I think it's quite improbable that one of this two teams does not pick up him.

The funny thing is Quinn is gonna be the best QB taken in this draft, and will be a very good starter. I think he'll eventually be up in the 3k+ yards and 20+tds. For some reason his stock has fallen drastically because of his play against LSu and Michigan etc etc. The thing people dont mention is Notre Dame simply did not have the talent of those other schools, especially on defense. I think Quinn in the NFL will do fine because his talent around him will be better. Hes get every tool you could ask in a Qb and those teams that need a Qb who pass him over will regret it one day.

Why make such a risky prediction?
and more importantly,
Why does "Solomon" always act offended about something on tv. He just has that obnoxious, annoying attitude.

In my opinion, the guy sucks, bigtime.

It's a stupid prediction. Brady will go in the top 10
