I really think they need 4 DT, whether that comes from this roster or a FA release is a question but trying to get through a season with only 3 for a team that likes to run 3-4 as much as this one does seems really risky to me.

The good news is that there is a few teams that should be throwing DT's onto the scrap heap during final cutdowns and Armstead should be available at some point throughout the season.

I also think 11 RB's/WR's is too high

The reality is that we have no OG/C worthy of adding to the roster and no DT's worthy of the 4th DT spot. Personally, I think that this is a very strong roster. I am somewhat amazed that we are able to include both a dedicated KR and a dedicated PR, and still have room for 4 TE's.

On the defense, I eventually decided that I'd rather have two special teamers: Rivera and Ebner, rather than Beauharnais and Buchanan.

That's what I am hoping as well. When they are running 4-3 they can slide a DE inside, as they did with Cinningham last season, however when they are running a 3-4 they are going to have a DT (Kelly) on the end and that leaves only Forston to bnack up both DT's and I don't think that is enough. If Armstead returns and he can actually play then they should be fine but short of that they really need a DT who can play both the nose and the end.

I think its the labels that are gettting to you. Slater and Ebner are ST only players. In any case, I am fine with a LB/STer instead of Ebner.

I do NOT expect to carry only 7 OL's and 3 DT's. We need to add 1 of each (Player 52 and Player 53). We could even upgrade Forston. In any case, one of the points of this thread was that we needed an OL and a DT.

I'm sure that the Patriots will be sifting thru the list of cuts.
The problem is that there are so many teams who have waiver
claims ahead of them. Even so, I expect them to be awarded
one or two players Too bad they don't have a few extra draft
picks to trade.
