ADALIUS HAS A DEALIO?

An industry source tells us that Ravens linebacker Adalius Thomas already has a deal in place with the San Francisco 49ers.

Thomas and Niners coach Mike Nolan were together in Baltimore, when Nolan was on Brian Billick's staff.

On Sunday, Thomas admitted that the Ravens "don't have the money" to re-sign him.

Can you say t-a-m-p-e-r-i-n-g?

(Is there an echo in here?)

If true, oh well - at least the jets didn't get him.

I don't know how much stock to put in these kinds of articles.

This is so common today.. You'll see like 2 or 3 deals happen in the first few minutes of free agency.. Conclusions points to these deals already being in place weeks prior..

if it's true, is there anything against an agent 'talking' to teams before FA begins? didn't this happen last year with bentley and the eagles and it was only being done to drive up his price from the browns?

If it is true, THAT WAS QUUUUIIIIICCK.

O well, moving on, lets look at his former teammate, Jarret Johnson, and London Fletcher-Baker-Craftsman-Artisan-Bricklayer-Farmer-Mailman-Truckdriver-Car Salesman...

Didn't PFT report at this time last year that LeCharles Bentley and the Eagles had a deal in place? How did that work out? Within days of the start of free agency, Bentley was a Brown, not an Eagle.

Wasn't Antwaan Randel El to the Bears a done deal at this point last year too? Didn't Rossevelt Colvin had a signed contract with the Lions about a week before he signed with the Pats?

Until I see story officially announcing the signing of Thomas, I will take this story with a grain of salt. The 49ers could be leaking this to scare off other suitors.

I am curious as to what an "industry source" is. . . .is it the guy making footballs? The groundscrew? I don't know what an "industry source" is; therefore, I don't take this seriously. . . . . .

If its true, the 49ers are putting a pretty good team together FAST

Alex Smith is a promising QB and RB Frank Gore is on his way to becoming something special,Vernon Davis looks like a great TE.

All they need is a couple of decent WR and a Corner or two and watch out NFC,The 49ers will become a force again, probably by as early as 2008.

I know thats right until its official I will do the same.

The irony being they are likely going to pay AT the same if not more than what Julian Peterson got last year when he left to join SEA.

Florio has some good sources.

Supposedly, the 49ers have the most room under the salary cap this season.

I believe thats right and they just released CB Sammy Davis and CB Donald Strickland and so now its reported that they have 38.2 million in cap room.

They also have the most cap space of any team in this league and have 8 picks in the first 4 rounds. They should take Seattle next year in the west.

Beat them twice this year, IIRC.
