After looking at that link someone posted awhile ago about news we wouldn't like regarding Adalius Thoms, suggested that DeShaun Foster may get cut. I liked him at UCLA and I liked him in Carolina. Although, he has been injury prone his whole career, I would like to see him in a New Enlgand uniform. I'm sure Foster would want to be a starter somewhere else, however. I think Foster and Maroney would be a great duo. What do you guys think?

Is he related to Chad Jackson?,that must be why you like him:D

I don't think we will sign him because in your own words,BB is a jerk and especially one who knows nothing about ST and who to play, why would he take anyone other than just lousy players who don't show anything.

Damn, that was harsh.

Just being a smart-***** brother...But when you make remarks like that in that infamous post 2 days ago, expect the rudeness to hang on for awhile..Especially slamming our beloved BB.;)

he seems to have a lil durability issue
other than that the guy is a pretty darn good ball carrier
and id def take a chance on him if the price was right

I dont know enough about him to really say. I know that when he was healthy he was a very good back. I dont know enough about his injury, his mindset, or his objectives to know if he would be a good fit here.

i gotta admit
that run against us in sb38
especially the way he dove into the endzone...
was TIGHT

To me, it seems like we're pretty much set. If Foster comes cheap, well, why not... actually, the same (still) goes for Duckett. We can tolerate some duplication/competition in camp, after all. In fact, from a versatility POV, still rather go after Ducket. The only one he can't fill in for if he goes down is Faulk.

PFnV

heres my dead honest assesment:
hes 1 of the best RBs in NFL when healthy.

hes a complete back, catches, blocks. run inside and out and has pretty good speed-strength. now..if he can ever stay healthy for long enough and be utilized properly..i think hes easily a top 5 back. i wanted him last year before draft when he was set to become a FA but he got resigned. in carolina..they use him like a poewr back kinda like we seemed to use Maroney this year in a way. Carolina's system is bad with RBs..its power and their RBs always seem to get hurt

hes 1 of my favorite backs and i hope wether its here or elsewhere that he can stay healthy and show what he has

btw..it was tight

In the event he does get I think some team will pay him to be their staring running back which is not what we're interested in.

But I think he is a very good player and would certainly like to have him byt not if we have to pay him starter's money.

What type of blocking scheme did Carolina use?

I understand that we are going to a zone blocking scheme to help Maroney out. If there is that much of a difference in blocking scheme/RB abilities (as also evidenced by Denver favoring a cutback type runner in their scheme) then we need to ensure any backs we pick can fit in with that type of scheme, as much as we can at least.

With all that....I just don't like his durability issues. If he could get on the roster cheap, that would be great...but I don't see it happening.

idk what they use but its built for power backs

Carolina has a bad OL and Foster is always hurt.
I do believe Carolline had the 3nd or so worse offense(points scored ) in the NFL last year. Jake stinks and all they have is Steve Smith on offense.

Hey Archives,

You spelled "epitome" wrong in your signature.

He is going to want starter money and be a starter.
I don't see that happening in NE

Nope, don't see it happening... If anyone had them on their Fantasy Football team last year, ( like I did) you would have saw the same thing I did... He rapidly deteroited as the season went on...

Agreed. I thought he looked REALLY slow last year. And the injury concerns cannot be exaggerated with this guy. He is ALWAYS injured.
