I think many of us see this coming.

im ready for pats to start developing a true backup for brady not an old man novelty. lover boy brady couldnt keep it in his pants may signal the beginning of the end for him.

thumbs down on bringing back drew, if thats what youre thinking

I hope Drew lands a starting job somewhere. I think he could still be decent with a team that has a good offensive line. He's probably too proud to take a backup role but he would probably make a good mentor for a young QB.

Regardless, I think he should get in the HOF. Everyone always dismisses him but they can't dismiss the fact that he is 7th all time in passing yards and 13th all time in passing TD's.

He was huge in putting the Patriots back on the map. Also I will never forget him coming off the bench in the championship game vs the Steelers and leading us to victory. If he wasn't our backup, this dynasty may never have been born.

If not for Parcells having his head up the Jets ass in SB XXX1, he might have had 2 SB rings as well.

the bears should think about getting Bledsoe and having him compete with Grossman.

He's look frickin' weird in a Bears jersey but they should try it.

Considering how it probably would hurt the team and i hate them with a passion

Oh wow, PF1996 may have found a board buddy.

Drew had a shot at the HOF but was really exposed in the last 5 years as nothing more than a million dollar arm and a ten cent brain wrapped around a delusional ego.

If he wasn't our backup, Damon Huard would have served nicely since Troy Brown and Slash really decided the outcome of that game. Drew's parting gift to us was barely not blowing that one too. For that he's earned a spot in the Patriots HOF (for his PART in beginning to turn the franchise around) if he wants it, though he may not want it at all until BB and TB have departed for the NFL HOF.

He's been dead silent since his benching in Texas other than reiterating he doesn't want to be a backup let alone a mentor. I hope he goes fishing, but I fear some other shmuck GM will try to talk him off the ledge with the promise of a real chance to compete. Watching him each successive season since 2002 is like watching a NASCAR race waiting for the ugly pileup you just know is coming. It's not even comic relief any more.

I totally agree. I remember seeing tears roll down his eyes after he made that great TD throw to Patten against the Steelers. I got a little choked up too watching that.

I'd like to see the Vikings give him a shot as a starter.

I'm sorry, as far as Bledsoe "leading us to victory" in that playoff game, he was given a pass play that he had a high percentage of success with in his career by Weiss. Thank Weiss for that TD.

What I remember about that game was the bone head play he tried to make thowing the ball over his head totally blind that he was very lucky not to have picked off. That could have cost us that game.

I don't want him to be part of our team. Sorry to be harsh, but I agree with the poster who said that he is a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. He has no ability to self critique and work on his short comings. That's why he lost his job to Brady and isn't in Buffalo and won't be in Dallas.

i dont see teh bears going after him, they already have their insurance policy with brian griesie or however you spell it...you could see the bucs making a run for him though, i dont know if he'd take the raiders job, b/c he knows he'll be benched for their rookie, then again, other qb's will be looking for new teams, like damon huard

I'd be curious to see how the SB would have played out if the Bears had Bledsoe at QB instead of Grossman's bargain outlet.

I could see him ending up in Cleveland, Houston, Minnesota, Detroit, Tampa Bay.

Where ever it could be, it will not be here as long as BB is here.

* Why would him knocking up his GF have anything to do with his football career? He's in his prime as an NFL QB. It's early to e worrying about his replacement

So since you're saying that 'Brady can't keep it in his pants' and you want no part of Drew Bledslow, ( I didn't catch an inference that the original poster
said that,) whom would you suggest as a quarterback for the Pats? And how is Brady ' not keeping it in his pants' signal the beginning of the end for him?

lover boy brady couldnt keep it in his pants may signal the beginning of the end for him.

If you can keep it in your pants when Gisele is begging for it, I'd suggest you take your pulse or use the electric paddles.

Or get less constricting pants.

I could see him ending up in Cleveland, Houston, Minnesota, Detroit, Tampa Bay.

I think those places will be looking hard at him. He has to be an upgrade in arm alone compared to the QB's that are currently there. I don't think he wants to be a backup, so it's starting on a bad team or retiring

I'm not sure why Chicago would go for another turnover-prone QB.

Most of those places would be fools to take him. Between the four of Cleveland, Houston, Detroit, and Tampa Bay, you might be able to cobble together two starting-caliber offensive lines.

Minnesota is a possibility, but their line is not hot-shakes either. Bad running game, so-so pass blocking. We sacked Brooks Bollinger three times consectively, and he's mobile and a quick thrower. It might be Dallas part two for Bledsoe if McKinnie and Hutchinson don't start earning their pay.

Chicago really is the best place for him, he's a prototypical outdoor cold weather quarterback, however it seems Lovie Smith has a man-crush on Rex Grossman. Bledsoe could do no worse than Sexy Rexy chucking the ball downfield to Muslin and Bernard, and unlike Rex he's actually demonstrated the ability to win games, not just lose them.

Wow, in terms of helping the Pats score a few more SB wins, your plan to ship Bledsoe to Chi-town is diabolically simple: a young team, knowing it's just a decent QB from a championship is given a retread QB run out of town by two so-so QBs (Losman and Romo). The reaction is sure to be a dismal one. Most of younger players who don't know any better yet, and all of the vets who do, will stare in disbelief at the long tall loser handed the reins of their dynasty in the making, then hang their heads and never recover from the insipid decision of th front office. I hope they do it.
