What do you all predict as far as Patriot players who will shine, players who will disappoint, players who will surprise, etc...

And who will look better out of Vick and Foles for the Eagles? Personally, I think Vick is 10x better than Foles.

Here's my prediction:

Brady in for one series; o-line doesn't look so hot and he gets sacked or hit, so he is immediately removed from the game without anybody getting any good looks at him and his new receivers.

Mallett comes in and is uninspiring. Maybe he scores one TD, but only if the Eagles back-up D is in.

Tebow plays most of the game, and looks pretty darn good, but it is all against Eagles back-ups, so all of his swooning supporters over-rate his performance. Since BB hates to lose even preseason games, the Pats try real hard in the 2nd half and either win or lose a close one.

On D our starters play one series. They look fine and get the Eagles off the field. After that it's the scrubs and they are all over the place, allowing some big plays, but making a few too. Play is inconsistent and sloppy.

Fans are scared/frustrated by this performance. We over-analyze it all week long and can't wait for the next one!

Edit - forgot to all that at his presser BB says, we made some good plays, we made some bad plays, we still have a long way to go...

Just wanna see some decent catches from Dobson, Boyce, Thompkins & Sudfeld. Wanna see what Collins can do. Also, interested if we can get any pressure on the QB, and to see how the depth in our secondary looks. Also, special teams, both Edelman and Washington.

Foles is pretty gpod man, not sure what you saw last year but Foles is more than all right, he might not fit the scheme though.

.

Don't forget the sentence that should have followed that one.

"but it is all against Eagles back-ups, so all of his detractors under-rate his performance to the point where they say to cut him right after the game during BB's presser."

Foles is the next Aaron Rodgers.

Just kidding.

I watched him last year and he sucks.

I watched him last year (probably more than you did :D) and he certainly does not suck, so we will agree to disagree.

he averaged 247 yards a per game, had more Tds than INTs and around an 80 QB rating, all this as a rookie thrown in with a garbage offensive line and a team unable to execute most of the time .

Watched every game he played. Wasn't impressed. I respect your opinion though, so I'll give him a re-look. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

But he ain't better than Vick.

Lol. I agree that if Brady gets breathed on too hard, he's coming out of the game. I also agree that I don't think BB risks Mallet too much either, so we'll see a lot of Tebow. Hyperbole both ways will ensue, as he will do enough to prove both his fans and haters right.

I'm very interested to see who Brady targets the most with the new WR corps. Amendola is a very talented guy, but Boyce and others have been making waves from the accounts I've read.

I wonder how vanilla the plays will be, especially the Tebow ones. At least we weren't bombarded with idiocy like that of the Jets last year talking special package this, special package that.

It's funny about the Pats D. People don't really compare them to the likes of the Steelers, 49ers, and such, but they are always a pretty good value pickup in fantasy football when you're in a pinch.

I don't expect to see the #1's much. They will have had action in the scrimmages.

All I ask for is "no injuries".

It will be difficult to judge the receivers, since Brady will be in very little. I really don't care how well the receivers look receiving from Mallett and Tebow against second and third stringers. We might get more out of their performance in the scrimmages.

Word.

Star players have been dropping like flies lately.

Dobson and Collins show flashes :rocker:

If Barkley can't beat out Foles as a second stringer by the end of preseason, then that's bad news for him.

I would love to see all of this too, but every year I am disappointed by the preseason games in terms of who we get to see and for how long. Since Amendola is figured to be Brady's #1 target, I can't see either of them being out on the field for more than one possession, because if either gets injured, the jig is up, so to speak. I do expect to see Mallett and Tebow throwing to the rookie receivers a lot, since that seems to be BB's MO in preseason - let the back-ups throw to the new guys and let's see what we've got.

I was at practice for an hour on Saturday and Tebow was on the field as the QB for most of it. They clearly are still designing running plays for him, as he had one designed run up the middle and one designed outside run to the right while I was there. Whether these were just for Friday night, for a back-up plan in case Tebow is QBing during a regular season game (yikes) or because the Pats are actually thinking of using him as an option QB like the Jets (please God, no) remains to be seen. I'm thinking they have a few running plays for him for Friday night because he is slated to play for most of the game and he's got to have a few plays to go to if his throwing is off target or gets shut down.
