At least I think it's day 9.

Some possible news on Dennard and why he hasn't been practicing:

According to a source close to the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe, Alfonzo Dennard is suffering from a minor injury that hasn’t been specified, and the Patriots are merely resting him as a precaution.

....

Howe writes that the Patriots are not keeping Dennard out of team drills because of his arrest,

I'm hoping we get some clearer delineation on the receivers today and how they stack up against each other. Also hoping for much more info on the defensive line.

And with Taylor Price just released by the Jags too. Shame.

(says no-one).
He looked real good in a couple of pre season games. Have to say I was rooting for him.

I was too. But anytime you're coming from an offense in college that is about as close to a polar opposite from the one that the Pats run as it gets, and you have to miss a significant amount of time in your first TC, odds are pretty small that you'll make the team and contribute. As it turns out, Price just simply wasn't a good WR, either. :(

Glass-Ir dowling again not practicing. Ugh. What a scrub

A quick reminder:

Tweets are primarily reactions to single plays rather than reviews of the entire practice.

Therefore it is not unusual to see one comment about a player doing well, followed by another of him doing poorly (or visa versa).

In addition one person may see a play as being a positive for the WR rather than a negative for the DB, and another sees is as just the reverse (and visa versa).

End result is what appears to be contradictory reports, but it is not necessarily so.

This is going to hurt Jenkins' chances too. With Edelman back, and Dobson, Thompkins and Boyce impressing, there are only so many spots open. Jenkins has to be back for some preseason games to make it. At this point, I'd be shocked if Thompkins DOESN'T make the top 53 anyway.

Amendola, Dobson, Thompkins, Boyce, Edelman and Slater seem like locks. I don't know if they'll carry 7 WR's, especially since I think they will have to start with Hooman, Fells, Zudfeld at TE, and maybe Ballard, with Gronk on short term IR.

I think BB will want a couple of receivers with experience so for now Amendola and Edelman fit. But if Edelman goes down (which would not be unexpected), then I can see Jenkins being much more likely to make the team.

It's alarming that this needs to be explained, but ...well done.

I dont see Jenkins making the team...unless Rooks flame out in PS.

I thing the 6 WR you listed will be it. They wont carry 7. Too many needs and questions at TE and then you have the Vareen factor.

You mention short term IR for Gronk. Did you mean the In season new IR where he can come back? Because there is absolutely no well in hell they would use that on him.

I agree. I think they brought him back too soon last year. This year they PUP Gronk (6 games). Keep Hooman, Fells, Suds.

Yea I'd be more comfortable with gronk starting out the year on pup. He has to be healthy enough for the playoffs
