I don't know if I'm making a big deal, but whats up with this patriotspride character? Do you guys usually ignore his dumb azz remarks or does he bring something positive to this forum? Cause, so far, he's been nothing but a wise azz to me and I haven't really done anything to him. Any comments??

I find your lack of thick skin... disturbing.

Welcome to the board. While your post count has nothing to do with your knowledge or contribution, I must ask why are you already complaining about someone and starting a new thread about it with only 9 posts? Please get some stones.:rocker:

After a little research, I have determined he doesn't like the Raiders. Oh Well.:scared:

If my post count has nothing to do with it, then why bring it up? Anyways, I'm not complaining, just trying to feel my way around this forum, thats all. I guess I found out all I need to know. Thanks fellas.

Here's the thing. New Englanders are particularly reserved. Some players are wont to say they are cold, unfriendly, and unnecessarily obtuse. As a bit of warning, many posters are ridiculously territorial and possessive. Additionally, many have a sense of superiority.

The thick skin note is of particular importance if you intend to continue your contributions. You will find that ideas you have will be welcomed with the warmth of a granite slab in January only to eventually be shined upon by the August sun. Conversely, there are many, many insightful posters who have a perspective and knowledge that is truly inspiring.

This site is a bit of a frat party, with allegiances etc. Calling out someone without establishing yourself is ill-advised, regardless of the validity. That said, welcome and good luck. Bring your A-game and you'll be fine. Just expect some disappointment along the way as people will think your ideas are absurd until they echo them weeks/months later.

I've got this post saved so I can use it on the next victim. :p

:yeahthat:

Though I think that "August sun" comment is a bit optimistic. Even Ian's jurisprudence is called into question here. Let's say that, eventually, with hard work and a flair for egotistical self-advertisement, you will eventually be treated as one of the gang by the regulars, after which several lurkers will probably register just to spite you. :D Instead of "August sun" think of it as a muggy July evening, with lots of gnats.

Yes. He's the only person on my ignore list.

We recently had a thread in praise of our visitors from other teams. Those who are respectful and open-minded are appreciated by very many (if not all) of us. That said, many of us have strong feelings about the Raiders. (Are you over the Snow Bowl? I'm not over Darryl Stingley -- and I don't think I want to be.) But, I for one, am happy that you're on the board and bid you a warm welcome.

As far as the poster in question goes, if you're sensitive about being told that you, your team or (in my case) your country s*ck, then I'd have to echo the last post.

A piece of advice. Why don't you contribute to the draft forum? The posters there are serious and very well informed -- if you've got something to offer, it will be valued.

Maybe you should try reading what I wrote. Your post count has nothing to do with your knowledge level to ability to contribute. After nine stinkin posts you want to whine about another poster? Give me a break. Do you want cheese with that whine? Are you the type of guy then went running to mommy every time someone picked on you? It is ridiculous. It's your loss of reputation. We just will not be surprised to hear you whine if someone disagrees with you.

Or how about he/she contributes to the football forum instead of whining about another poster 9 posts into the membership. That would work as well.

Ah, correction by Digger -- just what I need!

Instead of caling somone out on a thread, you can make that poster 'dead to you" if you don't like what is being said.

Go to your user CP. You will see "ingore" and "buddy" lists. Assuming that you don't want to put him on your Buddy list then put him on your ingnore list. Then you don't have to start threads about other posters.

There was only one poster that this feature did not work fro me.

Yeah, and I'm still here to haunt you. :D

Your point is well made. I have two people on my ignore list and everyone is happy as they post in blissful ignorance (as if they care what I think) and I don't have to read their stuff.

You lie like a dog because it was YOU who gave Rodney my home address
