I've i'm Khaseem Greene right now i'm wondering what Bill doesn't like about me.

Maybe he figures if he gets just the right combination of Rutgers players together, they'll magically combine to form Voltron or something. . . .

It must be so easy to do the recruiting at Rutgers right now. "Come play for us and you'll be with the New England Patriots within four years".

A Schiano recommendation?

Wonder how many ex Knights Greg has on his squad.

A lot of these guys are just camp bodies. Most people expected Ryan to struggle because the scheme that he came from at Rutgers was a zone-heavy one while this defense now gives a lot of press man looks.

Some of them are third-round picks, though.

Yes. They both have a pretty steep learning curve and early struggles, particularly in drills that (as the article states) heavily favor WR's, are to be expected.

Well, we can only judge once we see them on the field in real competition. The Pats have very clearly drafted or signed a disproportionate number of players out of Rutgers, and it's not entirely based on simple objective talent scouting. Somebody should track the level of success these players have and figure out whether this "pipeline" is valuable to the Patriots or not.

In the end, I don't see it being all that valuable. Again, most of these guys that were brought in were depth guys, Harmon and Ryan aside. That said, I am on record as being a bit confused by this. It isn't as if Rutgers was some unstoppable college football powerhouse these last few years, even when Schiano was there.

Great thread. Every single post is either funny, informative, or critical.

Cheers up my off season--and offers me more faith in the forum.
