SI's spin off site, with Peter King at the helm, kicked off today. Still digesting it but seems promising. Though I often bristle at King's attitude toward the Pats and especially Belichick, I do always enjoy reading his weekly column. Reading his intro column on the site, their plans are certainly ambitious.

Some Pats angles today:

Old friend Greg Bedard on how all the off-season distractions will drive Belichick and the Patriots, as they always have. "History tells us that the Patriots will not be distracted by their tumultuous offseason, no matter how the public perceives them. If they don’t succeed, it won’t be because a valuable offensive player is in jail awaiting a murder trial. It will be because the players they have aren’t good enough."

King teases tomorrow's three questions, with Tom Brady:
“We’ve had our chances. Twice. More than twice, actually. I still have plenty of chances to do it. What I’ve learned is it’s really, really hard to win the Super Bowl. I didn’t get that perspective early, winning three out of the first four years I played. What I like about this franchise is we’ve got a shot every year. I love the fact we were in the AFC title game last year, the Super Bowl the year before that, and 14-2 the year before that. Can we win this year? It’ll be determined by our level of commitment, the mental toughness. We’ll find it out before the season. How committed are we?”

—New England quarterback Tom Brady, to me, on the Patriots’ eight-season Super Bowl drought, after winning three in four years.

Read more from Brady, including his first public comments on Aaron Hernandez, Tuesday in our recurring 3Q series, featuring a three-question interview with an NFL person of interest scheduled to post each weekday at 3 p.m. ET.

I don't expect anything earth-shattering from Brady on Hernandez, just the first step in he and the team moving on. But Brady dos have a knack for saying the right things — more so, probably, than Belichick — so I'm looking forward to his comments.

I can't believe Bedard forgot to mention the Terry Glenn saga in his lists of distractions. That case fits his argument better than when Bledsoe went down as an example of distractions not derailing the Pats.

Clicking it open, I was bowled over by the "largess of the site. Clearly, it'll b a "go to" site from here on in. Good luck to Bedard.
One thing though; will there be any "Extra Mustard"?

Not bad article

Some comments had me look up stuff That may be of interest.
Belichick at Browns:

1991 6-10
1992 7-9
1993 7-9
1994 11-5 and 1-1 in playoffs
1995 3-1 before move was announced and 2-10 after it. How many of those 11 losses are on BB and how many on Model?

Let's be honest and not count post- move announced 34-33 with 1-1 in the playoffs. This was before Belichick learned to be BELICHICK.:)

Not bad after the 3-10 Carson Shofner year, but not awesome. Call it slightly above average.

Now if you want to do Belichick without Brady, there is also 2008. The Cassel-Patriots were 11-5. That is 45-38 not counting times the team has announced it is moving. Oh, and 1-1 in the playoffs (beating the Patriots.)

This site is going to be awesome.

Well, other than that it seems that Richard Sherman is going to write for them regularly.

Oh, wait, did I forget to link to the Sherman article in the OP? Well, imagine that.

Actually, I think that segment will be written by different players going forward. I did enjoy the Larry Fitzgerald travel-pics segment on the site today. The man is living a good life.

Re Brady's quote at the top of the thread: Interesting to see the different headlines written about his comments:

- Boston-based boston.com: Brady: 'I still have plenty of chances' to win Super Bowl
- New York-based NFL.com: Brady regrets Super Bowl losses

Personally I think the local guys came closer to getting the gist of it right.

I've been visiting this site quite regularly and find it to be some pretty entertaining, pretty informative stuff.

Figured it's worth bumping this thread to let others know to check it out if they haven't already or had meant to, and forgotten.

It is starting to sound like Brady wants one of his boys to succeed him at QB for the Patriots.
