I mean I know the NFL Network has helped enormously.. But fliping on Espn , you see them spending almost 20min to a half hour on NFL topics.. The Nfl live show is a daily show, sportscenter almost twice a week leads off with a NFL story.. Ive always hoped for this, but the NFL was always the monster of sports ... No sport, not baseball, not the fraud NBA, which I used to love as a kid, Hockey they still play that?? This stupid Nascar thing, which I dont , nor will I ever get, will never ever come close to being as poplular as the NFL.. The only thing close is March Madness, the Masters, and Baseball in October for me now, but still will come in a very distant second to the NFL:rocker:

Sean, while I agree with You I think it also shows how far the other "Major Sports" with the exception of NASCAR and Baseball in Boston and New York have droppped.Due to perception The NBA is nowhere near where it used to be in public perception and The NHL is almost invisible.Due to these facts We are left with A little Baseball and a lot of The NFL and NASCAR.Doesn't what I just described sound like every ESPN Sportcenter ?

Hate to break it to you but NASCAR is the most popular US watched sport and now with former Formula One and Indy car driver Juan Pablo Montoya on board.

NASCAR is hoping break through to two key demographics where the growing sport still has had trouble winning fans -- Hispanics in the U.S. and overseas auto race fans in general.

is it Formula 1 popular in US ?

in Italy yes...Ferrari...

If by "now" you mean, "in late February," I'll take that on face value. But show me the stat that says that for any given week, or weekend day.

I'm boggled that racing is anything more than a curiosity, but I do know it's just right up there where pro wrestling and roller derby use to be. Can't blame anybody... in baseball and basketball season, if it's the playoffs, maybe I'll flip it on. I saw most of that Red Sox world series that one year.

But NASCAR? What, you're rooting for one guy's car to go faster than the other ones, driving in a circle? What the hell is that?

When people start advertising about having the Jack Daniels 7000 or the North Carolina 5000 , or whatever they run in those events, and people plan parties around it.. Or come in my restaurant and pack it every sunday to watch it, then I may consider it .. But guess what I would rather watch a rerun of the 1986 masters than watch any of those cars go round and round in a circle
