My guess, its one of:

JMT57
Mayoclinic
Deus Irae
Mgteich

Reveal yourself! :D

The latter two are ruled out due to age. One is also disqualified due to general crankiness.

Congrats to the member. I can't say I'm shocked by this because there are probably 10 or so members on this board that do come off with some pretty spectacular stuff consistently. I think many have known that there are media members that lurk here that find a lot of insight in the world of sports. My guess is it doesn't stay a secret for long who the member is.

Well I think this is pretty cool. Congrats to Mr. Rodak for working hard in pursuing a career in sports journalism and now -landing the gig-. As the field is so weak right now, seriously, I sometimes want to gag when I read the dreck that comes out of the boston media coverage of our sports teams. Well, it NEEDS improvement! Thanks for hopefully providing that from here on out.

Mike Rodak is a guy in his 20s who writes well and at least somewhat knows what he is talking about. I suspected at first it could be me, but based on this description, I am ruled out on all accounts.

Even with this knowledge, I am still about 15% sure that I am Mike Rodak.

BTW, I don't think it could be Deus or mgteich. I think both were around before Rodak's parents allowed him to use the Internet unsupervised.

yes...at least on one count I can confirm your contention...I know for a fact that Deus is Amos Alonzo Stagg's youngest brother...Andy...

Well, I thought I'd be clever and search the member lst for "rodak." Because, you know, we all use our real names. Came up with a bobrodak; pretty sure it's not Mike based on posts. But there aren't a whole lot of Rodaks out there so Bob: if you're listening, help us out. ;)

I'll save you the trouble. His username doesn't have "rodak" in it ;)

So my guess of "IamMikeRodak" would be wrong?

It wouldn't be "Alisonlovesbrady" would it? (sorry to the newbies who don't get this joke. Google it. And the old folks who get the reference and don't think it is funny... Well, you might be right.)

How did you know I was in my 20s???

And so begins the 2013 Patsfans.com "Go fish" tourny.

Best of luck peeps.

My guess is SVN. Just a guess.

Regardless, cool story about the kid. Pretty amazing stuff for him to be able to cover the Pats as a college kid. I could barely go to class. I will be interested to hear where he is going to end up, hope everything works out for him. A family member is a PC alum as well and I saw this article a while back on him: Write On with the Patriots .

Sounds like he wants to be an NFL GM. Wouldn't be the first Boston reporter to get into the ranks of a pro sports front office (Chris Snow from the Globe now works for the Calgary Flames)

There are a number of posters on here who are BETTER than the media so it's no surprise that at least one has been picked up, wouldn't be surprised if there are more now or more to come in the near future.

...is it OTG?

Coincidentally enough I was just offered a position at Modern Drunkard based on my writing here.

Since Ian has not said something about who I think it is - I'll reiterate that it is indeed Metaphors.

If you read his posts - it is worth reviewing how he writes and what his opinions are.

If it is not Metaphors, it would not surprise me if that user was some form of past or present journalism student or one that has taken journalism classes.

A strong contender. Thoughtful, informed and measured posts right from the beginning.

I'm not saying I'm Mike Rodak but have you ever seen the two of us in the same room?

yeah...he's the one sitting on the couch and you're the one disguised as a standing ****oo clock off in the corner...

and using my prodigious powers of hyperbole and histrionic leaps of staggering logic, I now declare YOU to be, in all realities, the Reverend Borfo...the anagram Froob is a dead giveaway...

Congrats on who it is. It's a truly amazing accomplishment.
