WR Donald Jones released

The first one has bitten the dust. He won't be the last. That's a WR group that's chuck full of garbage and question marks.

Rapoport: WR Donald Jones released

Tiquan is the embodiment of Meh. Sure, when you are trotting garbage out there, meh looks pretty damn good. But he isn't someone you pull out all the stops to keep around.

I also wouldn't read too much into how he does at Tampa. Judging by how quickly NE moved on from him last year - particularly when WR was a position of need and was clearly going to be one this offseason as well - it is probable that he wasn't quite getting his head around the system.

Well said; and very accurate assessment of Underwood. I actually watched a handful of TB games (muscle hamster fan) and Underwood was consistently out of place and not by a few feet either, his hands were not always trust worthy either.

He is a very good run blocker it appeared though, which is why I think he was on the field as often as he was.

Is that Hernandez stepping in to break things up (between TFB and BOB)?

Everyone knows that you shouldn't talk to people that Hernandez doesn't want you talking to...well almost everybody.

Actually, I don't think its him.

I guess McDaniels didn't like what he saw.

Wow, that is a little surprising.

Time to get on the Kenbrell Thompkins bandwagon folks!!!!

and he liked Lloyd. And Salas (who could still return).

and he must have seen something to like out of Jenkins...many here believe he won't even make the team. Meh, if they believe that he isn't a good fit, might as well move on.

Maybe he was having flashbacks and going into the fetal position for hours at a time whenever he saw Vince Wilfork?

Jones is not good. There's no need to read anything more into this.

This statement is likely the most accurate statement in this thread.

Just like last season Johnson, Gonzalez, and Underwood were cut prior to camp. I read into that as Gaffney, Branch and Stallworth being impressive and likely roster locks. Which wasn't the case at all.

You had this assessment pegged from the get go.

I personally had higher hopes for D.Jones myself, but once I heard that he wasn't getting many looks in mini camp/OTA's, I took that as a pretty clear sign.

When you're being showcased as getting some of the "leftover" reps at the end of practice, it often leads to bad things.

I guess the fact that his only highlights came against the Pats secondary should have tipped us off ...

Perhaps, though he'd probably still be around if NE didn't have to pony up a quarter million dollars in a week just for him to show up.

I was completely unaware of his contract and can honestly say I would never have been as optimistic about his chances had I known about that, and the roster bonus.
