Of those I chose Jenkins, because he's the veteran and thus has the inside track early. I have a better feeling about Donald Jones than I do any of these four though. Probably just a hunch.

You are not alone Donald Jones has slipped off the Radar of Patsfans.com early roster projectors. I think what he brings to the table ie...Size/Speed combo is much better than regarded. I think Mr. Jones could surprise and with the mash unit we have on paper Edelperson and Armendola, Donald Jones is going to have every opportunity. P.s. I have a good feeling about the Rookies A. Dobson and a "Healthy" Josh Boyce.

The Pats are already going to have at least two rookie WR on the roster, so from that group I would say the veteran Jenkins has the best chance to be on the roster.

I'm curious why you came up with those four, but did not include Kamar Aiken or Donald Jones?

I already know he will make the team, not even concerned about him. He will definitely contribute to the group.

You can't just assume Jones will make the team. His contract had no guarantees and he practiced with the bottom of the depth chart during OTAs while Thompkins, Hawkins, and Jenkins got some first team reps (mostly Jenkins). I think Jones has the most upside of the group and considered him a lock before OTAs but after hearing about him at OTAs, there's no evidence right now that he's a lock.

I know I'm in the minority here but I really like Lavelle Hawkins. I think he has the smarts and speed that BB/JD like in our WRs. Catching the ball from a good, smart QB will help him shine. Playing in TEN he never had a QB that was good at throwing the short to medium routes and getting the ball out quick (Kerry Collins, Vince Young, Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Locker).

I see the likelihood of Hawkins as making the team most tied to Julian Edelman. If Edelman gets injured in camp then I think Hawkins makes the team 100%. Hawkins can back up Amendola in the slot and field punts.

Jenkins, Harrison, and Thompkins are the WRs that as fans we've been begging for being that they are big bodied, outside receivers.

Hawkins is my choice. I feel like keeping a player like Jenkins would just take away from Dobson's opportunities. We maybe better off to start the season with Jenkins but long term I think we need to put Dobson out there for better or worse just like we did with Chandler Jones last season.

Harrison I expect to go to IR so we can maintain his rights and his foot injury will likely take longer than expected by any doctor, wink, wink.

Thompkins seems like a great fit for the practice squad.

I don't think anyone can say that Donald Jones is an absolute certainty to make the roster. if he's not getting the pre-snap reads right or seeing the defense the same way as Brady then he'd quite easily be a cut. For those with little invested in them, talent is not the issue - it's the ability to pick up the offense and be on the same page as Brady.

I've never even seen two of them play, so I can't really say. Bottom line is that, if any of them can emerge as league-average receivers, I'll be happy with that.

It is quite possible that Dobson will be so dependable by Game One that Belichick is convinced that he doesn't need either Jenkins or Jones. To me, that simply seems unlikely.

For me, the question is whether we keep Jenkins AND Jones. I would note that even the top WR's often need a year to get acclimated to the NFL. This is especially true for a patriot offense.
