Maybe giving JJ the NFL channel was not a good idea.
The propaganda of the NFL is becoming almost a problem. I really dont mean to intrude, but I want to speak my mind on this, because for some fans this looks like a great video of a team that went to the SuperBowl, but to us is extremely disturbing and not accurate, and we are angry about it. Its WW2 films clips at its finest proping a 7-9 to seem like they are winning to sell more jerseys and toys. Its disrespectful to the fans that love football.

Its nothing short of ridicules, and our fans know it. Yes, Moore is under rated, Colston is great, and we have some emerging stars like josh morgan WR that no one ever heard of, but to say we didnt suck on defense and not show the truth of it is amazing to us. Its playacting us. We dont need stupid videos, pro or con to decide if we like our boys, we have a independent mind than you NFL.

We love our boys. They are ours, good or bad. Our fans dont stop loving a player because he makes a mistake. We all make mistakes.

I guess my point is… we are all being bombarded with hate, love, anything that will sell the NFL, I guess. Dont lose your passion for the team or the game. Brady is amazing. You still have it, and no matter what they say about you or your boys, you are true football fans, and that will never change. We know down deep we have good guys and we do our best to represent our team.

Our admiration for NE is understandable. Your fans and team set the pace for good football. So with all respect to Herz, Dennard, and any others they are not a reflection of the patriots or what BB and Kraft has built. And that the NFL would capitalize on that , or anyone , to fill air time, and make this look like a patriots orgainization problem is …nuts. I really dont post much, but just had to say something , sorry

I watched the beginning some of the middle and the end. It came across like a cheap sales pitch for fans to root for the Saints, especially the ending.

Thanks for the support Pherein! I know I never let the noise bother me, none of it matters. Good luck to you guys this year.

Yeah, good luck, Pherein, both to you & yours, and to the Saints. You're good people and always post interesting observations.

@ pherein

Your rant is so on target...and you're not alone. Being a fan of an entity that is an attention grabbing 'hook' for the mullets schooling out there has its down side. Being tied to the 'king of the mountain' whipping post has its costs but the main thing is...being king of the mountain.

SportsBabe Brandi of RBL SportsNet.com wrote a good article kind of breaking down what the sports media is up to, called Bromancing the Stoned. Knowing Brandi I know she's not talking about ALL football fans...just the ones that will 'take the bait'.

Clearly, you are one of the ones that doesn't.

This has been going on for years, it really is nothing new. I can remember Facenda's burly voice blowing smoke up my ass coming off some truly terrible Patriot seasons. Try to dig up some NFL film videos from the bag-on-your-head days. Unless it is a follies-type vid made specifically to laugh at the incompetence, they are all like this.

Seems like I've been watching that type of BS for my whole life. I never liked those NFL Films profiles of teams or games. I never thought NFL Films knew how to tell a story - they always wanted to seem to tell their own made-up story. You couldn't tell if a team was 5-11 or 14-2. If it was a game profile, you couldn't tell where you were in the game. It almost seems like they suck the natural drama/story out of a the sport.

The story of a 5-11 team could be just as compelling as the story of team that went 14-2. But only if you want to tell the actual story.

NFL films have always done the 30-min season recaps. They are always glass-half-full. Not a big deal.

Off Topic: The video quickly brought up the Drew Brees record for consecutive games w/ a TD pass. Heh. I know Brady is very close, but with the current receiving corps, that record is looking pretty far away, now...

Sometimes with the NFL I have to question myself whether I am even watching a legitimate sport. It is as though the actual game is merely a vehicle for a more overarching drama/reality show theme.

Yeah, the game films always drove me nuts. The announcer would make plays that happened much earlier seem as if they were momentum changers later on. I never understood why you couldn't just follow the game's true script.

It is. They (the NFL and their sports media lap dogs) are trying to have a 'face of the NFL'. Why they prefer Peyton or Brees over Brady is my query. Peyton ain't clutch and Brady is a much nicer person...Brees, whatever. The vid in the OP must be Archie inspired.

Fwiw:

Cold Hard Football Facts has an article named Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens Rode Real QB Rating Differential To Super Bowl Win that shows Brady blows Brees away in performance. The bragged about Brees QBR in the vid is bunk.

The 2006 receiving corps just called. They said "You sure about that?"

Uh, in 2006 there were three games where Tom Brady didn't throw a TD pass. So yeah, you can tell that '06 receiving corps that, yes, I am sure....

nfl coverage in general is garbage. I only watch games now. maybe a local show once and awhile and that's it. you want to see great coverage of a sport watch hockey coverage. no hype. no chest pumping by players. no former players with agendas. no reporters with hate filled agendas. just good solid coverage.

Totally agree. In the NHL I can watch 60 minutes of pure competition without being told who is supposed to be the hero/villain of the week, who had the latest tragedy and how much "adversity" someone has overcome so that I know who to root for.

thats so nice of you gwedd thank you :) so wishing you the best and all. The best to the patriots fans to. We have a lot of respect for them here. LA was one of the only states in the patriots corner from the begining of the playoffs.
Just amazing fans.
Yeah it just bothered us , and I can see yours as well, that the NFL made these prapaganda films. Really did not click home till we saw this one and though " omg you have to be kidding we sucked" we thought hehe " how can you bump brees so high when hes #1 in ints, and Graham as a monster when hes #1 in dropped passes. Sorry i just had to vent.
I loved them as a child, maybe their geared toward getting children involved, hmm

Its nice to know im not alone guys, and your not, because we know these criminal things have noting to do with the patriots organization.

Its nothing short of ridicules, and our fans know it. .........

But, but,..... they were in contention for a playoff spot (and a 500 record) until the final week of the season.

NFL Films told me so in that DEEP AUTHORITATIVE VOICE......

It MUST be TRUE.

Agree with most. I dont know many in NO that wouldnt lauph if your compared Brees to Bradys level. But Brees is a prefectly nice guy, et a little to open mouthed about his views. But you have to accept people for what they are if they are generally good ppl. Brees is popular because hes not a big gun, has no big arm, is not born perfect for the position. He just works his ass off, and is focused, works months on his precession throwing. Its not natural to him, like Brady or Rogers, its not god given.
Brees will always be an inferior physical model to Brady or Rogers or many others.
Peyton has a ora about him, but we always thought he was kind of arrogent. That boy always walked around like he was better than you. Like you should just give him everthing because he was born better. The love down here was for Eli. He was so cute and worked so hard. Always in his brothers shadow, and I bet to this day he is not throwing his 2 SB's in the face of his brother. Eli is so meek and respectful of people. Sorry for late post
But that the NFL films builds up the patriots, and in the same breath constantly bombards the same team with all this drama is so crazy.

err and more cheerleaders hehe
