This is what happens when you play key prospects on special teams. Why is a WR on kickoff duties? I didn't know WR's can tackle. Why play Chad Jackson on special teams when he has had problems recovering from hamstring injuries throughout the season? So the Patriots coaching staff couldn't find anyone else to go out for kickoff duties? Stupid move on their part and this is the end result. Chad Jackson was a 2nd round pick which the Pats traded up for and is expected to be the #1 guy for Tom Brady. Not anymore! Thanks Bill Belicheck for playing him on special teams you jerk. I hated it when I saw Maroney on special teams and believe it is completely unneccesary to play future prospects on special teams. Now Chad Jackson is probably going to be out for season and if he does make a miracle comeback, he still won't play much. The Pats better sign WIDE RECIEVERS in the offseason that are actually legit, not chumps like Caldwell and Gaffney. They just won't get it done. I don't want them to waste another pick on a reciever early in the draft because they wouldn't play him anyways. Way to go again Patriots organization!

THIS POST SHOWS YOUR IGNORANCE ON FOOTBALL, YOU MUST EARN YOUR WAY ON TO THE FIELD AND THAT DONE BY SPECIAL TEAMS , INJURYS ARE PART OF FOOTBALL, AND YOUR REAL STUPIDITY SHOWS BY QUESTIONING THE BEST STAFF IN FOOTBALL, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY SOCCER?

 Where is that Harry Potter spell for banishing Boggarts when you need it?

Best coaching staff in football? Did they win the superbowl this year? No. Did they when last year? no. The HAD the best coaching staff when Weiss and Crennel were around, not anymore bro.

Part of the reason we won 3 SB is because we played not not "key prospects" but pro bowl starters on ST. It sucks when they get hurt but it's football.

What are you, a disgruntled Red Sox fan?

So, therefore your head should be poltergeisting as you erase all New England Patriot Championships during the Belichick era. As its a well known fact that he plays starters or basically whoever he feels will get the job done regardless of what other coaches, players, fans, a-holes, think. You can't have it both ways, so stop whining as no one cares to listen to your rant.

You're all wet on this one. Chad Jackson did not show enough to

be on the field as a wide receiver. He was going to have to earn his reps

just like everyone else. If he didn't play special teams, he would have

been on the inactive roster.

So was Tom Brady on kickoff duties when he was a rookie? No, playing time is not evaluated based on how well you played on special teams first. The way to earn playing time is doing well in training camp or practice.

YO BRO THE MORE YOU SPEAK THE WORST YOU SOUND GO FOLLOW THE FIGHTING IRISH AND THE BROWNS, PLAYING PLAYERS ON SPECIAL TEAMS IS PART OF FOOTBALL , OFFENSE, DEFENSE, AND SPECIAL TEAMS, GET IT , THEY ARE ALL JUST AS IMPORTANT IF YOU DONT GET IT , AGAIN TRY SOCCER

stupid thread.... are you suppose to have an entire squad soley for special teams? ask the rams how good their special teams is BECAUSE they don't use starters on special teams. any good special team squad has starters on special teams.

personally i think yous tarted it to drum up conversation

Oh, and shocker of all shockers! Tom Brady and The Pats dont have a #1 guy! I know its tough to stomach such a thought for those looking to see Fantasy League superheros playing for your team, but that is the reality here.

No #1 WR, CB or anything else, with the exception of QB. Here the old saying about all 42 guys being ready to play and capable of filling in is the way of life, not a cliche. Just try to remember that, ok?

The more I speak, the worst I sound? yeah ok. I know more about football than you think. I played in high school, so I know somewhat how things are run. You are probably one of those guys who projected the Pats to take a LB in the first round of last years draft? Bobby Carpenter right? Well, I projected the Pats would take Maroney and they did. Why don't you try soccer.

The Rams don't use any starters on special teams? Nice, that's how it should be!

No. I'm a disgusted Patriots fan. I was excited the day the team drafting Chad Jackson and now he is in jepordy of missing his 2nd season.
SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT YOUR BLAMING THE COACHING STAFF FOR JACKSONS INJURIES? HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR PROZAC LATELY? IF NOT ID SUGGEST YOU TO FINISH THAT HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

You serious, truly don't understand football. All you are is a prick that likes to complain about everything. There isn't a team in football that doesn't have at least one starter, let alone "future prospects," playing on special teams. Some people like to cry about it when someone gets hurt but don't seem to mind who's playing special teams when we win the field position battle.

This subject could come up every time one of our regulars gets injured on

special teams. There are only so many good football players on an NFL team

and some of them have to play special teams.
