The Media BS and More BS...

And let's be conscious that one young man has died and another young man, who has given us fans a lot of great moments, is in a lot of trouble.

Not to be callous, but people are killed every day without all this media (and law enforcement) attention. I wish law enforcement and media would react this way to every murder, violent crime, burglary, etc. Unfortunately, they spend most of their time dogging normal people for going 5 mph over the speed limit.

After hundreds of posts and 24/7 media breathless "reportage", we now know very few facts.

Facts:
A supposed acquaintance of AHern's got killed.
He apparently was dating the sister of Ahern's fiancee/girlfriend/wife.

Speculation:
He was shot once or several times. He may or may not have been killed where he was found, in an industrial park in SouthEast Massachusetts.
The acquaintance was apparently driving a vehicle rented by Ahern. He may or may not have been killed in the car.

That is all we know.

I myself, probably like you, have a couple of old, broken or inoperative cellphones in my house. I also have a home security system, that I found could be thoughtlessly set off. I have not armed it in years. I don't even know if it still works. When I had a big house, we had it cleaned once a week by a cleaning service.

So I am probably a murderer, by the criterion used by the Media.

.

You are so full of crap. He destroyed the home surveillence system, he smashed the cell phone, and had the place scrubbed hours after the death. The body was found in his rental, hours after they were together.
Does this describe your average day? Look i know hes a good tight end on our favorite football team, doesnt mean we have to live in fricken denial

"..Judge...we searched the defendant's home 17 times over the span of two weeks..."

"Well, that certainly puts a new light on the defendant's case...I'm going to have to go along with you, Lt. Flanagan....Mr. Hernandez, please rise...by the power vested in me by the people of Massachusetts, I hereby sentence you to four life sentences without parole in Walpole after which you will be drawn and quartered and your body parts doused in gasoline and burnt to ashes...may God have mercy on your soul.."

Half the membership of Patsfans.com rise to their feet and let out rebel yells and whoops of ecstasy ...."great job gang!!!! now let's all go over to my house in Ivory Tower Estates and plan our next celebration!!! I think that Brandon Spikes looks guilty of something!!! Let's get HIM now!!!!"

No arrest, no trial, no admissions, no evidence....hearsay, what ifs, could be's and looks like's...GOOD ENOUGH!!!!! He's GUILTY!!!

Destroyed home surveillence system- Give me the report where it says the cops have the evidence that he smashed it and it was smashed after Lloyd was killed.

Smashed cell phone- Given to the cops by his attorney. If he didn't take a magnet to it or break the sim card then the cops have gone through it by now.

Cleaning Crew- As of right now nothing says he called them in day of. Could have been a weekly scheduled cleaning.

Body found in his rental- Body was absolutely not found in his rental car. The rental car was in the area of where the body was found.

Let's not kid ourselves, the facts are someone who Hernandez was with was murdered and the police are searching Hernandez's home for the third time in a week since the murder. Don't try to make it seem like Hernandez isn't directly connected to this, police don't spend this much time in one location if they don't think it has a connection.

You would be surprised at how much time police will invest when they have no solution and they think that, if they try hard enough, they will get lucky. I find it interesting that despite their scouring of AHern's abode, they haven't issued an arrest warrant yet (or haven't served it). Me thinks they haven't found the smokin' gun and are getting desperate for a better than speculation based lead.

Some of you guys are whistling past the graveyard.

An acquaintance with whom hw probably was seen soon before the crime was shot in the back of the head close to his house. The police got a warrant sufficient to remove 15 bags of evidence from his home, which means they convinced a judge they had probable cause to believe there was evidence of a crime in Hernandez,s house, and there is no way the search warrant was obtained for that extensive of an evidence seizure merely based on PC to believe there was obstruction. The police have made their PC case that there is murder evidence in Hernandez's house.

Does this mean he did anything? Not necessarily. Does it mean that the police will be able to make a case? Not necessarily. But it is more probable than not they are in the process of trying and they have settled on him as a target on a serious felony harge, possibly homocide.

He is good and screwed and in the cross-hairs. He is in as tough a spot as an accused can be right now, and my prediction at this point -- and it is just a preiction -- is that he will never play another down for the NEP if anyone.

I really think some the doom and gloomers should watch a few episodes of "The First 48".

No one said he should be put in jail without a trial. Speculating on a message board doesn't have the power to incarcerate someone. As far as no evidence, you're right in that without a witness or some physical evidence ahern walks. Even if it can be proven he died on aherns property so what? There were other people there. Broken surveillance? So maybe someone else there broke it if it's even broken at all. Dumped the body? Prove ahern did it. Maybe his friends did.

Never get a guilty verdict or even an arrest without a witness.

However if it's investigated by a grand jury and he won't talk or takes the fifth then even if he walks, he probably never plays in the NFL again. NFL doesn't operate on innocent until proven guilty.

They are behaving exactly how they behave in this sort of case.

One can spin everything how one likes, and I don't disagree with the premise of this thread that the press has gone off half ****ed. But it also is clear people do not really understand the significance of today's events.

As simply as it can be put, the police believe, and a judge agreed, that based on evidence gathered to date, it was more probable than not that evidence of a homocide would be found in Aaron Hernandez's house.

No more, but very certainly, no less.

You must be a teenager with that mentality.

If AHern did it, what a fool. How could someone squander such an amazing opportunity by doing this? It's not something I can even wrap my head around.

So where are we here?

1. Denial. It’s the media’s fault.

2. Anger. NO OPINIONS allowed until all the evidence is in.

3. Bargaining. We still have Brady. And Gronk. Maybe.

4. Depression. What the hell happened to our receivers?

5. Acceptance. There will still be games on Sundays. And beer.

I think this is where the problem is. Everyone can have an opinion. But people are not posting opinions. "I think" and "I feel" are opinions.

"He is guilty of" and "he did this" and "he broke that" and "he called this cleaning co that night" are not opinions.

Ya not sorry some of us actually want all the facts and an actual official statement from the police and not reporters where numerous times already a reporter would put something out where it hasn't even been confirmed or even reported on by another reporter.

I mean a few "sources" confirmed Hernandez's arrest was imminent on Thursday morning and then again on Friday. Some other "sources" said that an arrest warrant had been issued, yet a criminal magistrate clerk said no warrant had even been processed.

You need to update your post, it is factually incorrect.

"As simply as it can be put, the police believe, and a judge agreed, that based on known facts, evidence pertaining to the homicide might be found in Aaron Hernandez's house."

And the amount of stuff they took is not contingent on a judge.

15 bags of evidence- we are trying to find a needle in a haystack
1 or 2 bags of evidence- the needle was sitting right there

Guys,

Are you all that naive? Guilt. Innocence. It doesn't matter. He has been tried and convicted by the news cycle (name another NFL story right now).

If absolutely innocent he still has the "bad choices" thing and Roger Goodell WILL suspend him. Rightly or wrongly, the media hath spoken and Goodell is nothing if not media driven.

Just curious. What stage is "Goodell is an a*s. Movin' on."?:D

You forgot one

Dumbassery. We've got nothing but conflicting reports. Neither the police nor Hernandez' side has weighed in yet. Still, we know that Hernandez must have done something wrong.
