My point - and perhaps I should've been more clear about it - is that I believed that Ian was under the assumption that NEM was lying about his neighbor, and I do know for a fact that NEM has been unable to contact Ian to explain what happened. It's possible, I suppose, that Ian did receive this information and doesn't believe it or doesn't think it matters, and is sticking with his decision. If so, then that's obviously his prerogative.
You say you respect what Ian did, but you start a 3rd thread of the day when one other 1 has been shut down and locked. Why couldn't you put your opinion in the "tribute to Ian thread?" Multiple threads have been moved, locked or deleted within a few weeks time, but yet you start this thread claiming injustice? Please explain to us how in the world that you are respecting what Ian did. You show no respect at all, but go start a thread based upon your personal opinion agaisnt Ian. I would hate to see the people you do show respect for.
Look, I am loathe to getting into a pissing contest here, but if NEM's neighbor has internet, why has he (as himself, or as NEM's proxy) been unable to get a messeage to Ian? I'm sorry, this doesn't add up.
2+2=5 didn't you know?
"My personal opinion against Ian?" You surely didn't read my post AT ALL closely. I very much give him the benefit of the doubt, which he richly deserves.
As for the other threads, my apologies. I wasn't aware of those. I may have let my feelings get away from me in coming in here and posting all that I did without looking at the board properly. There was certainly no ill intent there.
And, as I said above, I feel I was extremely respectful toward Ian in my post.
For the record, NEM did not try to log on under a different name. NEM stuck to the rule that Ian set - he stayed exclusively in the political forum.
If I have something to say for myself I will say it as I have done on occasion, seeing as I am a CHicago Bears fan, but because of NEM over all these years that I have known him I am a secondary fan of the Patriots, too and have joined him on several occasions at the Vine Tavern with his Pats fan club.
And it his his computer that I use to get to this message board. I dont have a computer and I live next door to him and we are as close as can be, almost like family. I am like a brother in law to him.
I post here based on what he says to me and I feel that I owe him the opportunity of having a voice in Patriot fan affairs as every person in this forum should have because as far as I am concerned there is not one patriot fan as loyal, passionate and one that will give his right arm if he had to for the benefit of any other patriot fan and believe me i know that to be true and it hurts him terribly as to what was done to him here by a few people.
At first he did post a couple of times under my name and I asked him not to do it so he wont get into trouble. And for the record I know that the patriots and this forum are his life and he has dedicated what is left of it as he has all before it to the patriots and to patriot fans. And for the record he did not tell me to say that... i know it to be true and he is very velry hurt by what a few posters did to him here.
And i do not want to discuss that any more just thought it should have been told.
And he does not tell me what to say or post other than an occasional opinion he gives me about a pats player or something related to the patriots.
Ah, yes. Fuzzy math.
You know what, digger? I'm trying to keep this thread civil, and I'm being patient with your hostile attitude. I'm not asking for people not to take responsibility for their actions. I'm asking them to be understanding of a situation for which they don't have the total picture.
This nonsense about side-swipes at Ian is ridiculous, unfounded and irresponsible of you. I'm trying to have a fair conversation here, and you're mucking it up with untruths. I have a ton of respect for Ian. I have said it over and over, and I will continue to do so. I've asked people to take a second look at the situation - all the while saying, it's obviously Ian's call.
Please try to represent my posts fairly and with accuracy. Thanks.

Basically standing up on the guys website and telling he is dead wrong for what he did is respect? Since when? I read your post perfectly fine and see that you feel that Ian is wrong and wanted everyone to know it. Look at the title of the thread. "just to be fair" implies that what Ian did was unfair. You are dead wrong. Ian is one of the most fair guys around. All you did was show him disrespect.
Ther is nothing civil about you calling Ian out on his own website for being unfair.

You are clearly too riled up to look at this with any sense of proportion or fairness.
"Standing up on the guys {sic} website and telling he {sic} is dead wrong for what he did is respect?"
I didn't say that.
"Just to be fair" does not imply that what IAN DID WAS UNFAIR. It implies that, just to be fair, certain facts have not come out and it would be fair to at least voice them - if these facts make no difference to Ian, then fine. That is not criticism of Ian. That is making sure he knows certain aspects of it that he may not. If he does, and still wants to keep the ban permanent, fine. That is, as I've said more than once now, his prerogative.
I think you're smarter than this, digger. I hope you'll try and be more even tempered and fair-minded in understanding and representing what I ACTUALLY wrote.
Do people honestly believe I have been "calling Ian out?" Are you just trying to stir up *****? This is a ridiculous charge that you continue to make.
Really, now, this isn't, as I said, the first time; Ian has been, I believe, supremely patient and forgiving in these situations in the past. I don't think this was a decision made w/out great deliberation on his part, and, again, I don't believe you can say that the body of evidence he possessed didn't warrant it.
That is exactly correct, but people want to stand up and say, "Just to be fair, my opinion must be heard" which implies, "Without my opinon the situations is not fair." This is crazy.
Ian took no joy in this. He is very fair. He doesn't deserve to be second-guessed. He doesn't need to be called out claiming he doesn't understand the whole story.
