The Onslought of Tebow Only Fans (TOF)

We've seen it in Denver and in New York.

Fans who magically start popping up here (user accounts after May 2013), who want Tebow to get more snaps, chime in when the team plays bad and have "suggestions" on what to do, and who are more Tebow Only Fans (TOF) than fans of the Pats. In extreme cases you'll have these "fans" to even root for the team to fail, as they personally root for their favorite player over the interests of the team. The flames will be helped/fanned along by his former coach, now reunited, who is personally invested in proving he didn't waste a ton of picks on a bust QB.

Get ready.

The far bigger problem is with those such as yourself obsessing incessantly about something yet to happen. The vast majority of posts here are from folks whining about Tebow this and Tebow that. Much ado from you (plural) about our 3rd string QB. Your comment has been made by dozens here dozens of times and it needed its own thread?

There is a HUGE, ASTRONOMICAL and vast difference between the situation which existed in Denver (Kyle Orton) and New York (The "Butt-Fumble). Both the mentioned QB's were awfull and played as such ...

The situation here is quite different, No one, is EVER going to question who is starting here ... - So I seriously doubt you'll see anything similar as was seen on the Broncos and Jets' messageboards ...

he was a first round pick in Denver so the fans wanted to see him play, could you imagine if BB used a first round pick on a player and let him sit on the bench this board would go nuts. there are threads on how BB wasted a 5th round pick on a guy that's IA every year so I think we can understand that as fans,

as for the jets Tebow just came off of a playoff win vs the steelers and was backing up maybe the worst starting QB in the NFL mark sanchez so he should have been given a shot to play, that will not happen here no one will want to see Brady come out of the game for Tebow unless its late in a blowout game ONLY jets trolls will come on here calling for Brady to be re-placed my Tebow

I don't get the point of this. Sure, there will be a few more Tebow posts, though they seem to be coming from the existing fanbase than any Tebowites.

And it's not as if we haven't had "fans" negatively rooting for the team before. Some of our longest-term members take great pleasure in reveling in every failure of BB. And let's also not forget the posters wanting to keep Cassell over Brady as he was slowly coming back from his lost season.

I really don't understand the point of getting worried about it, it will just be more of the same that we've seen over the years. Nothing new, nothing to get worked up about. :bricks:

I'm not opposed to Tim Tebow working hard with a good attitude and getting some experience. But in New England, barring injury, no one is going to clamor for them to bench Tom Brady.

In training camp you need camp arms, especially ones that will throw balls to the many WR's in opportunity sessions after regular practice. Say what you want about Tebow, the kid has a good attitude and works really hard.

It will be easy to get a scout team going that runs the read option in training camp, we have the guy to give our defense that look.

I hope the kid makes the team.

Personally I am not about to discriminate based upon age, length of time being a Pats fan, reason for being a Pats fan, or any other reason. The door was open when every one of us became a fan of the Pats, nor did we get an option to close it after we were admitted in.

If somebody causes the forum to go off the rails due to their passion about their favorite player (think back to the Randy Moss trade), then it will be dealt with it at that point. If it turns out that somebody hijacks every thread, then it will be dealt with at that point in time - just like it has been done in the past. In other words, nothing has changed.

Until then everyone deserves to be presumed innocent, and everyone deserves to be viewed individually rather than collectively.

I may be your first one- I'm an unabashed Tebow fan- Not much into pro football, more of a Gator lover. Got to know all the Denver players when he was there, and never enjoyed a season like that one ever. Thought Elway was a jerk and could never root for the Jets, but I did watch all their games hoping Ryan would wake up and put him in, but never happened- I do go to the 4th pre season game each year because I will at least get to see him play (I am a realist). No one thinks he is going to replace Brady (at least until he retires) I usually just troll- It always amazes me all the haters out there- Sad actually- So, is it hard to get preseason tickets??
