Glad to see my man The Hut back again. Collie is one play from medical discharge. Would not want to be watching his next concussion. Neither guy will make the 53 unless we're devastated with camp injuries.

You guys make a good point about Collie and there may be a larger lesson. Players cannot be trusted to act in their own best interests. Since teams have their own interests which can conflict with those of the players, perhaps there should be an independent medical board funded jointly by the NFLPA and the league that would offer independent medical review and assessments.

Collie's the one who said he'd sign a waiver about his concussions, right? I want that guy nowhere near the field, just for his own good. If owners are colluding like Dwight Freeney said, they should collude to make sure Austin Collie never plays another down of football in the NFL.

How was Gaffney in camp last year before his injury (hamstring?) that led to him getting cut? Does he have anything left in the tank?

Perhaps bars should install breathalizers and not serve anyone who is at the legal driving limit since they can't be trusted to act in their own best interest.

Collie has had a small earthquake occur in his head. For his own good, he should probably hang them up. Gaffney should have never been let go last year. But the homers were all fine with it. They were vindicated when Branch was supremely effective in his role.

If Gaffney is actually healthy this year I don't see why he can't have a decent shot of making the team and an impact. The season before last he had a good year then unfortunately riddled with injuries last year. Chemistry with Brady

A strange proposal indeed, but not remotely close to anything I said or think. I want players and the league to get complete and accurate information about risks from folks who do not have a vested interest in the decision.

They can't force Collie to not play if he's medically cleared, but they could come up with some sort of system to incentive players like him to retire. Maybe offer them a lifetime insurance package (that they are loathe to offer the entire league post-retirement) to types of players like this with past concussion history.

Then the player has the choice to accept this one-time insurance coverage offer or he can opt to try to continue playing.
