Last week it was LT. This week it is Shawn Merriman - Denise (Julie Bowen) is very angry at Brad (Mark Valley) because he is seeing another woman after getting her pregnant (sounds familiar - hmmm).

Anyway, she tells him sarcastically, "Why don't you just parade her into my office - you too can do a little Shawn Merriman sack dance, you insensitive pig!"

The Chargers are not having a great week, are they?

According to patfanken (from the thread on last week's show) the show is produced by Boston native David Kelly, and given last week's shot at LT I have to believe this was another shot at the Bolts.

Besides, the fact that Denise's pregnancy was due to casual sex ("friends with benefits", as the show puts it) has been part of the plot for several weeks, and Bridget's pregnancy just hit the news less than 48 hours ago.

That's just bad writing. 80 percent of their audience doesn't have a clue who Merriman is. Of course it's network TV so it comes with the territory.

Bad writing??? That is the type of writing we need more of, I adore a good topical pop culture reference. Don't sell the audience short, I believe more people than not would understand that reference.

If you say so. I'm an HBO snob. Can't watch network tv anymore. It's just too banal.

we're having a great week considering the bad timing of the marty firing

i mean we got the best staff possible for continuity's sake (if you know anything about the defense and offense we run you'll understand what i mean by that)

we got rivera to hopefully help teach our LBs some new tricks while he gains some 3-4 experience.

and we just signed shaun phillips to a 6 year contract extension with 13 mill guaranteed cash.

all we need now is to lock up kris dielman by matching whatever offer he gets in FA (if we even want to lock him up) and have another succesful draft.

frankly most of us are just happy we no longer have the biggest playoff failure of all time still hanging over the team like a cloud of **** lol.

On the contrarty, bad writing is when you write to the lowest common denominator. That's what's wrong with most TV.

It's okay if everyone doesn't get all the references.

You're right. It was still a cheesy reference though for those that do get it.

If you say so. I notice you didn't mention the new head coach.

Good writing or bad, I guess Boston Legal doesn't care too much about its San Diego Nielsen's. Anyway, I thought if was funny so I guess I don't know good writing from bad.

Kelley has always done that with Boston Legal. For the 2004 season he ended almost every show with a reference to the Sox winning the World Series!

Damned incest! But I hope they're hanging for you too partner! :rocker:

While we are talking silly stuff, I wanted to let people know that we are having a "Babe of the Week" contest at the Ladies Lounge forum.

this weeks contest is between Elsa Pataky and Hiedi Klum. Voting will continue until Sat when the winner will move on to take on a new challenger next week.

Norv Turner will continue the legacy of Marty...

will norval be looking over his shoulder while his replacement (rivera) is breathing down his neck?

no idea, i'm just optomistic that he's basically cameron's teacher, an OC more than a HC, and that we've been able to have the best fit for continuity given the circumstances of the late firing (that was engineered by marty)

i'm just thankful marty's no longer the coach, the guy just can get ya there but he can't deliver.
