So says Shefter on NFLN.

Not sure if this was posted over the weekend while I was gone but it's nice, although not surprising, news.

we all just knew the emotional pain and toll of losing the way they did, Bruschi would not want to go out that way. i don't need any convincing they're gonna win it all.

I'm glad to see that he is playing. I still don't know if he is an every down LB at this point though. He is the heart and soul of the Pats so it is great to see him there as an emotional leader.

He'll finish off his career in Arizona, February 2008 - what a way to come full circle.

Now we need Troy Brown's commitment.

That's good news, especially if they acquire some help in there for him. While I think there's some credence to the age thing,I also think he was put in a tough spot this year due to injuries and losses.
Tedy Bruschi is the epitome of toughness, both physical and mental. The man is an icon to football and an inspiration to everyone.

all we need is the clap on clap off lady - seriously, we need to get younger and faster at this position. Peyton picked on Tedy inthe second half of the AFCCG. Maybey he can get fastewr and quicker in the offseason? Alexander, anyone? Help???

Thats sounds like a fun time I hope to run into a few of you down there as we can toss back some Bruschis and celebrate.

It is nice to hear that he plans on returning. I think we all thought he would as we all know that the Indy game must be killing him.

Lastly I would like to argue this Bruschi lost a step issue. I dont think he lost anything over the course of this season. He may not have come back from the stroke to be the same guy as he was prior but he has proved since returning from the stroke that he can play at a very high level.

He had a cast on all last year and led the team in tackles I don't know what else you want. The whole idea that he didnt have enough big plays last year is stupid because of his one hand he had to wrap up with his good hand limiting caused fumbles and obviously he couldnt easil get INTs with one hand so what kind of big play is left?

What Tedy needs is a competent partner inside, not Alexander. Plus some good Safeties behind him, not the slop (remember Hawkins was out in the second half) that he had against Indy.

your lips to gods ears (this offeason) Lets surround this warrior with the tools he needs....and for the love of god, I dont want to see him getting beat by Dallas Clark again next season! Clark made him look like chief ironsides in a wheelchair.

If we get Harrison and Wilson behind him and a competent ILB to team with him, Belichick/Pees can get back to playing to his strengths rather than being forced to hope his weaknesses aren't exposed.

Wilson = lazy loser

Not me saying this but a mediaot.... BF, you lay out a good case, but do you want a D full of Medicare recipients? This is no way to beat the Colts....

Well we were up 21-6 at halftime. Then Hawkins went out, with Harrison already out. Then Colvin went out. We weren't having much trouble with them until the flu/travel/one too many injuries took hold.

Now, don't get me wrong . . . I want a mostly defensive draft especially on Day One. We need young guys to move in. But for NEXT YEAR, I am fine with Harrison coming back, Bruschi, re-signing Seau, etc. As long as we have some young blood (more talented than what's here now) that'll be ready in a year.

I'm a big fan of Wilson. How is running down MAcGahee which caused the hammy to ultimately let go be construed as lazy?

The only reason the Colts only had 6 points at half is that our corners were making amazing plays on some perfectly thrown passes. Then the Colts moved away from the big plays in the 2nd half and killed us. Bruschi was pretty much toast the entire game- Addai burned him on the first drive but dropped a sure 30-yard catch.

Despite the injuries, the defensive calls in the 2nd were atrocious. The only reason we could stop Manning is because his thumb was hurt and he still completed some long balls afterwards.

Exactly my point.By giving him the tools he needs we put him in a better position to succeed. You play as a team, and his most productive time was when he had those tools.

True enough because balance is what it's all about.

Teddy coming back is nothing but good news.

I would like to see him used in a more consistent rotation than an everydown LB, but that is more a wish for LB depth than any specific note on Bruschi. I think keeping the LB's fresh with a good rotation will go a long way to keeping our aging LB corp in good stead throughout the year and playoffs.
