Well what do you guys think i mean Wallace has been a really good backup for years and he reminds me alot of Jarvis Green in how well they contribute of the bench so maybe he could be signed to compete and most likely be the backup DE to warren so we can finally get rid of the bust marquise hill. He has made 17 sacks and 141 total tackles in 5 years at carolina all in a backup role not to mention he has made 4 intercepts in those years which is really impressive.

marquise hill has 25 pounds on wallace
jarvis green who is a lil light for our de's has ten lbs on wallace

Its unlikely he'd be a better player in our 3-4 than either Wright or Hill, not to mention Green. He's an old 4-3 reserve end that got cut due to salary and pressure from younger backups.

We need youth,is kind of old...Take a look at for the right price...

Hey its not like im saying this is guy is the solution to all our problems but i believe he will come cheap nd would definetely be better than atleast marquise hill i dont even care if he is 100 pounds lighter he is still way more talented than that bum of a player. By the way Dan klecko was only 275 pounds when he played for the pats and he was still productive even though he is of lesser talent than wallace also Bobby Hamilton was only 5 pounds heavier than wallace when he played for the pats and look at his production.

yes dan klecko, is that why we signed him to a multi-year contract? Why pay for a vet who wants more money who you think will replace hill who doesnt play anyway?

Why should Marquise Hill have a roster spot this year? He may be huge, but he almost never gets into a game. What is his value?

We don't want him.
He did nothing here in Carolina.

shows how much you know..hes started a lot for Rucker and many Panther fans are dissapointed that hes cut over Rucker b/c hes been more reliable and played well when asked to fill in.

Ever ask yourself why Hill does not play? Could it possibly be Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, Green, and Wright have something to do with it? We have 3 studs on a defensive line of the 3-4 and two solid back ups. When has Hill had a chance to play?

Again I must ask the question, why bring in a vet who is not going to play and pay him more $$$ than Hill who is not going to play?

His value is based upon his contract and knowledge of the system. I don't understand why you want to bring in someone who will be 3rd on the depth chart, pay him more money than Hill, then not have him play because of the caliber of players ahead of him. How can you justify throwing that money away?

Thank you Digger. You have a good point.

The knowledge spreads. :D

I completely understand what you are saying digger but i dont believe marquise hill isnt playing much just because of our stud lineman as much as i believe its because he just doesnt have what it takes simple as that. Wallace isnt going to be pricey rest assured and taking him wouldnt be much of a risk. I ask you this say for example seymour and warren are injured for a number of weeks god forbid would you want hill starting? I sure as hell wouldnt and Wallace let me say again is a proven very solid backup just look at his years in carolina sure it is a different system but his talent is still there.

If he's as good as you say some other team with a more suitable defensive scheme will probably outbid us for his services.

I can't remember the last time the Pats went out and signed a free agent 4-3 DE.

It's ok to hold the opinion that he doesnt have what it takes, but just remember it is your opinion. BB has kept him around, and there is a reason for it. I am not saying that I know what it is either.

I say the same about your example. You want Wallace starting? He has never played in a 3-4 (CAR isnt) and he has no clue how to comprehend one of the most complicated defenses in the NFL. How would he figure out the two gap on top of all this?

It doesn't come down to talent in our system. System knowledge and execution are much more valuable that the raw talent you are refering to. Think about it. We won SBs with nobody's in the 2ndary. We were so decimated it was ugly, but we kept going to the guys with little talent but had an understanding of the system.

Yes, I would rather see Hill start over Wallace. Knowledge is power. There is no evidence anyway to suggest that Hill cannot step in and do what needs to be done.

yeah theres evidence..he couldnt get playing time when Sey was hurt nor when Warren was hurt and did terrible when he played end of a game

Hill - 2nd rounder..Green was what? a late 4th?

and Wright was undrafted..Hill cant get any playing time like Green and Wright do?

if Hill was any good,we would have a solid rotation with him since he was a 2nd rounder

So what, it was "a game"

Hill - 2nd rounder..Green was what? a late 4th?

What type of logic is that?

Do you realize that Wright typically plays NT and Hill does not?

This is not necessarily true whatsoever. When our Dline is so good, some players need to be sacrificed from the active roster each week. It goes to reason that if the Dline is the best unit on the the team there is no need to activate the total depth on the roster.

I am not saying Hill is a probowler. He is an inexpensive backup that knows the system.

Regardless of any logic you try to use, the fact remains that BB has kept him on the roster. It really doesn't matter what you think about Hill's ability does it? BB keeps him around.

a game. because hes only good enough to get in at the end of a game when were up 40. the logic is .. hes a bust. he couldnt beat out a 4th rounder nor an undrafted guy for playing time

do you realize Wright plays NT and DE? and that they are both similar size..Hill is actually bigger

i dont mind keeping Hill as a backup..hes cheap plus he'll never play anyway and neither will any cheap backup we bring in but how has he proven to know the system? He sucked in preseason and sucked when he got some time. Either he doesnt know system or his skills are just bad.

dont tell me BB wouldnt mind giving both Sey and Warren a breather at the same time or when Sey missed a lot of time and Green started..Hill still couldnt get on the field.

theres no way our DL is that good with rotation. When we take out 1 of our front starters..we arent nearly as good. Green can start in a 3-4..im confident in him. Wright plays both positions and his versatility is part of the reason hes been around. Hill...he cant even get on the active roster. Your telling me if BB knows Hill is a pretty good player or can fill in every now and then, that he wouldnt bring him on the active roster and get him some playing time?

That logic is pathetic. It doesnt matter if an x rounder beat out a y rounder.

You just demonstrated that you have no clue what your talking about. Since when does playing the nose have to do with size alone? Just sad. If a guy doesnt have the knowledge to play nose tackle, you can't just throw him in there.

Then why does BB keep him? You still havnt answered that.

I didnt tell you any such thing

I never said he was a pretty good player. He is what he is. If you get back to the thread that was actually posted b4 you hijacked it, you would see that this is about bringing in a player to replace Hill, which is not necessary.
