Brady: Not Surprised Welker Bolted

Brady has seen his musical receivers come & go & come & go again and just excels with whatever hand he is dealt. Guess he doesn't take it personal with nature of business so he just goes along and watches a Branch a Moss a Welker come in and then go. Props to Brady where other QBs have their go to guys stay awhile.

As a fan, the dilemma I constantly face is that I get too emotionally attached to the players on my teams. But, at the root of those emotional attachments is the fact that I really love the teams I root for and rooting for them as intensely as I do only intensifies those feelings, particularly when they win. So, when players leave, particularly by their own choice, I find it upsetting but it's my own fault because I'm the one who created those intense emotional attachments. I understand that I'm likely making no sense, but it's as close as I can come to explaining it to myself.

Exactly! "Fan" Fanatic that's what we are & do. Passionate to our teams and players. Now'adays players change jerseys quicker than a model on a runway but it's how it is now, way of NFL.

Maybe he did, maybe he didnt. We won't know. But the right thing to do was not to say it. Brady knows it. After all he also knows he has the best head coach in all of football. It's not like his coach is brad Childress or Romeo Crennel. By not saying it, he showed trust and respect which hopefully will be reciprocated when Brady retires.

Fielding a "competitive team" is exactly how Bob Kraft has described his objective for the team ever since he acquired it.

Unlike the blowhards in the Jets organization or others', Kraft has never said that his objective is to win or even be in the SB every year. He's defined his goal for the team as being "competitive" every year. That's why he never bets the house on one player or goes on Dan-Snyder-like spending sprees to acquire the one "missing piece."

As mentioned this thread sorta sounds like something the media would start. They would take a quote by a player or coach of this team and print it out of context to support an agenda.

What you won't see is Brady using his celeb status to organize fundraising beyond his own pet project, Best Buddies. Patriots have gone to Newtown, Ct a couple of times. No Brady. You never read in the gossip pages how Brady snuck into local hospitals to visit sick kids or bombing victims, etc. Funny how nobody ever drops a dime to report how Brady snuck in the back door to do good deeds.
Don't you be worrying about Wes Welker.

Come on. Neither you nor I have any idea what Brady or anyone else does for sure in the area of charity. And beyond Best Buddies, Brady went to Africa for more than a week several years ago as part of Bono's AIDS initiative. Don't attempt to defend one guy (Welker) by disparaging another (Brady.) It's a classic deflection technique and it's cheap.

1) Neither you nor I nor anyone outside the circle of his family and close friends have any idea what Tom Brady does or doesn't do to support people in this or other situations. The activities in which you suggest Brady should have engaged comprise what I would describe as "grandstanding" when done by very high profile folks. Some high profile people are actually uncomfortable playing to the crowds and grandstanding in circumstances like this, but choose to give money quietly or raise money from among their friends. (And "dropping in the back door" when you are one of the most high profile celebrities in New England and among the most high profile on the planet invites tweets and YouTube cell phone videos. He has very little privacy and he knows that a large number of people would be unable to resist the lure of the 15 minutes of fame that such a posting would bring them.)

2) Comments like that are why celebrities like Brady and Gisele travel with bodyguards. They have no idea who is seething with resentment at them and they have no idea when someone might take those resentments beyond a Forum Posting and actually act on them when they are in public; I'm not suggesting that you fall in the latter group, but you sure seem to fall in the former.

3) Beyond the above, the philanthropic activities of Brady and Gisele are well-documented and need no defense. Let me know when the UN or Bono or Al Gore ask you to support their initiatives and I'll take you seriously on this topic.
