Seymour has been a class act since he left. It's clear HE has issues with the team, but he freely suggests to other guys that they could be happy with the Pats. I hope he finds a fit for himself that makes him happy -- especially if it's in the NFC.

I stopped feeling sorry for him when he got the ridiculous contract from the Raiders. Seymour got everything any player could ever want out of a football career. He has three rings and more cash than most players see in a career. And he has a good chance to see the Hall of Fame.

I didn't like they way he left, but that is the way the Pats do business and for the most that way has worked for the team.

I hope he signs on with the Falcons if that is what he wants and he can finish he career the way he wants to, but I don't know if I feel sorry for him for getting a boatload of cash from the Raiders that he would have never gotten elsewhere.

Atlanta was actually in talks with him very early on at the beginning of free agency, but they supposedly didn't have much cap room.

Whether or not that is true (lack of cap room at the time) or not, we'll likely never know, but reportedly Atlanta was the only team to show any type of interest in Seymour, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he finally ended up there now.

Reports today say that Seymour isn't anywhere close to signing anything.

The Falcons are not in good cap shape, and all reports state that Seymour is looking for a big payday.

This should be interesting, especially if Seymour doesn't lower his financial demands.

That was part of the fit.

Although I'm not sure about the "lives" part, or why he's training in Georgia, given that the fuss about the trade was ascribed to having to move his kids from Boston to SF at an awkward time of year.

I was devastated (really pissed) when he was sent to the f*****g Faiders.

He's good for half a dozen sacks every year still, but his financial demands seem to be out of touch anymore; especially in the current market.

If he were potentially a 2.5--3m dollar player, then I would imagine that there would be a lot more interest in him. Unfortunately for him, he seems to be sticking to the idea that he's worth much, much more still, and that may stem from the insane money that OAK gave him.

I can't imagine Seymour looking for anything less than at least 5 million a year still, and I bet he's pretty pissed about that "small" amount due to the current market. In other words, I bet he still wants more than Osi, Freeny, Abraham, etc--and based on all of the reports that I've read that seems to be true.

Now people are saying that Seymour and the Falcons have not spoken since early in Free Agency.

Nothing humbles a man more than reality. The longer there is no interest elsewhere, the more attractive the small money that Belichick would likely offer seems reasonable. Plus BB may be actually holding a position for him.

BB now has Wilfork, Kelly and Armstead as his interior DL. Plus a lengthy list of never-weres, and many never-will-bes. Forston, Grissom, Cherington, Velano, do not exactly put fear into any OC's head.

I think Seymour had hit his peak while here in NE yet wanted superstar money long term.

He was never going to be happy staying here, and I don't think he'd be happy being back here.

He played the good soldier on bad teams in OAK, but you could tell he wasn't happy there either.

I don't think it'd be wise to try to bring him back here. He's clearly on the tail end of his career and what he could add needs to be offset with what he'll cost and the risk of his money first attitude rubbing off on others.

One actually, Seymour was with 07 team. We don't know that, Seymour coulda made the game ending play vs Eli in SB 46. Yeah for the most part, it was the offense who lost them those super bowls. Best offense in the league shoulda been able to score more than 17 and 21 pts.
