Armstead "is a stud"

the links doesnt work
Doesn't work here either but with some google kung fu I came up with this

Type Armond Armstead’s name into YouTube, and you’ll stumble upon a six-minute clip that highlights the talent of the 22-year-old defensive lineman. As expected, there are plays of hell-raising, and backfield penetration throughout the video. It’s supposed to be that way — it’s a highlight film after all — and then once you watch a full-length game of his, you’re supposed to come away somewhat disappointed.

The plays in the video frequently appear when watching full-length games. He’s an impressive player, displaying a non-stop engine and various other traits that D-line coaches look for in their players. Power, quickness, athleticism, and versatility are some of those traits, all of which appeal to the schematically diverse New England Patriots, the team that worked him out leading up to the 2012 draft and then again this offseason prior to signing him

I was hoping more for a he was 'tearing through everything at practice' article not a 'go look at youtube' article.

It would probably help if they were practicing. :)

He could be a big addition to this team though.

I'm as excited about Armstead as anyone here. But, to be fair, I could put together a YouTube video of me and my friends playing a pick-up game of basketball and make us look like the Miami Heat.

I am hoping to see plenty of Jail break Sacks......this year :rocker:

Observations from Tuesday OTA - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

11. Odds and ends: It's tough to evaluate much on linemen during OTA's, but it's hard to miss new defensive lineman Tommy Kelly. Like Vince Wilfork, he's a mountain of a man, standing at 6-6... Ryan Mallett was picked off by Dont'a Higthower during a passing drill... Armond Armstead showed some ability to bend and torque his frame off the edge... Dane Fletcher was back on the field and didn't seem to be showing any signs of limitations from his 2012 knee injury.

Lined up at DE then, another note from that article is Cannon was RG.

Yea, as in the Miami Heat Waterboys.

Well i'm not an authority on what goes on in the offseason but uhm..

Patriots OTAs - 5/21/2013

"Patriots held the first of their organized team activities on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, May 21, 2013."

To me that means some type of practicing, I doubt they sit in a circle and tell jokes for a few days, thats certainly not what amendola is doing today.

For those who didn't, or couldn't, read the article the "He's a Stud" line was a quote from the Argonauts' Player Personnel Assistant.

Funny, if you put together a Youtube video of my friends and me playing basketball, we would look more like the Washington Generals than the Miami Heat.... Even if they got Martin Scorsese to film it.

I'm just saying, let's wait until the kid is in pads before blowing putting him in Canton. Same thing for those new guys that could be seen as disappointments or disappointing choices.

I'll be happy with 10 years of being in Foxborough with 50 sacks as a defensive tackle...

Yes you are correct. And like I said when they "practice" perhaps you will get your wish of him tearing through whomever. But for now it is indeed OTA which is a new way of saying "passing camp." There is absolutely no contact allowed and no pads.

So its kinda hard to tear though anything. I like your thought process and I certainly like your attempt to connect OTA with a real practice but it just isnt reality. Sorry. He cant touch anyone.

Maybe he tore though the salad bar though.

I sure hope Armstead develops into an NFL stud for the Patriots.

I'd be happy with the next Warren Sapp. But Armstead will just have to settle for being himself. :)

Yea, as in the Miami Heat Waterboys.

I still think that Cannon is a RG in the long term. They were probably playing him at tackle in part as long-term Vollmer insurance, but with Vollmer and Svitek here and healthy, there's more value in RG who can play tackle in emergency situations.

It is about time Belichick scores his own Cameron Wade from Canadian football. Armstead seems like the guy
